Business planning platform Abacum has raised $60 million in a Series B round led by Scale Venture Partners, with continued support from Y Combinator, Creandum, Kfund, and Atomico, as well as new participation from Cathay Innovation. The New York-based company plans to use the funding to enhance its product offering and grow its presence across the U.S., currently its fastest-expanding market.
The investment positions Abacum to further establish itself as a key player in finance automation, offering a modern platform for mid-market finance teams.
Finance professionals are often stuck juggling manual processes, siloed data, and legacy tools. Abacum was founded in response to these challenges by Julio Martínez and Jorge Lluch, who saw firsthand the inefficiencies in traditional finance operations. Their platform aims to centralize financial and operational data in real time, improving collaboration, insight generation, and decision-making.
"Modern finance teams have long been underserved," said Stacey Bishop, Partner at Scale Venture Partners. "Abacum strikes the perfect balance: robust enough for serious FP&A, intuitive enough for business users, and built AI-first from day one."
Used by companies like Strava, Aiven, and Mastercam, Abacum helps teams model scenarios, forecast revenue, automate reports, and plan headcount more efficiently. As RapidSOS Head of Finance Richard Harem noted, "We reduced our headcount needs three-fold and accelerated our reporting cycle by 73%."
Abacum plans to use the new capital to strengthen its AI capabilities and further develop features that simplify strategic planning. This includes expanding its multi-agent AI, which proactively generates insights and suggests next steps.
The company is also focusing on enhancing its modeling engine for faster scenario planning and building a unified data layer that integrates seamlessly with existing tools. Its goal is to give finance teams a real-time, shared source of truth and empower them to take a more strategic role in company growth.
"We saved a week of time and now have our business review meetings within the first five days of the month," said Nico Serventi, Director of Finance at Kajabi. "Now 80% of our time is on strategic planning instead of data wrangling."
Despite a lean team, Abacum has tripled revenue over the past year and now serves customers in 31 countries. Its approach mirrors what it aims to deliver to clients: sustainable and scalable growth through smarter capital allocation.
The company, which also has offices in London and Barcelona, plans to continue prioritizing U.S. market expansion, which already accounts for more than half its revenue.
Scale Venture Partners leads the new round, adding to a portfolio that includes enterprise software leaders like DocuSign and HubSpot. Cathay Innovation joins as a new investor, bringing global expertise in Vertical AI.
"Abacum is building one of the most advanced Vertical AI platforms we’ve seen," said Jacky Abitbol, Managing Partner at Cathay Innovation. "It’s transforming finance from a back-office function to a strategic growth engine."
The continued backing from Y Combinator, Creandum, Kfund, and Atomico reflects deepening trust in Abacum's long-term vision and execution.
