Certiverse, an AI-powered certification platform, has raised an oversubscribed $11 million Series A round to accelerate its growth and expand access to on-demand credentialing tools. The round was led by Cherryrock Capital, with participation from returning investors Chingona Ventures, Hyde Park Venture Partners, Angeles Ventures, Hunt Holdings, and Zeal Capital Partners.
Investor demand was particularly strong among insiders, with several doubling down on their earlier support. The funding positions Certiverse to bring its certification platform to more industries and organizations, regardless of size or technical capacity.
As employers increasingly value skills over traditional degrees, certification programs are seeing rapid adoption. A 2024 IDC study predicts that by 2027, 80% of Global 2000 companies will rely on certifications and IT training to close talent gaps. Certiverse’s platform enables industry leaders to build new exams in weeks, cutting both time and cost compared to legacy systems.
“Certification has the power to change lives, and we’re dedicated to removing the barriers that have historically made launching and earning credentials difficult,” said Ruben Arturo Garcia, CEO and co-founder of Certiverse.
With the new capital, Certiverse will enhance its technology, expand its user base, and grow its team. The company aims to make certification development more efficient and accessible for a wide range of industries—including IT, finance, healthcare, vocational trades, and AI.
Certiverse also plans to support professionals seeking career changes, upskilling opportunities, or ways to build credentials outside the traditional university model. Its online, AI-enhanced platform supports asynchronous exam development, reducing time-to-market for high-quality certifications.
Founded by Ruben Arturo Garcia, Certiverse evolved from Garcia’s earlier venture, Innovative Exams, a mobile test delivery company he successfully exited. Drawing on that experience, Garcia and his team created a more agile, scalable alternative to traditional exam development.
Certiverse’s fully digital platform enables asynchronous collaboration between exam developers and subject matter experts, helping organizations deliver valid, secure, and affordable exams at scale.
A standout use case came from The Linux Foundation, which launched an exam through Certiverse. “It’s said that between better, faster, and cheaper, you can only pick two, but Certiverse enabled us to have it all,” said Clyde Seepersad, Senior VP at The Linux Foundation.
In addition to Cherryrock Capital, the round included Chingona Ventures, Hyde Park Venture Partners, Angeles Ventures, Hunt Holdings, and Zeal Capital Partners—all existing investors who reaffirmed their confidence in the platform’s growth trajectory.
“Certiverse is solving a massive pain point in an industry that’s been slow to innovate,” said Adrianna Samaniego, Partner at Cherryrock Capital. “We saw that top NASDAQ publicly traded companies and professional certification programs are already trusting Certiverse to scale credentialing faster than ever before.”
