Osmo, a digital scent design company, has closed a $70 million Series B funding round led by Two Sigma Ventures. The investment brings the company's total capital raised to $130 million and will support the expansion of its AI-powered olfaction technology across fragrance, healthcare, and public safety industries.
New investors in the round include Valor, Atreides, Amplo, Alumni Ventures, Collab Fund, Lumina Partners, and Patrick Collison, CEO and Co-Founder of Stripe. Existing investors also participated in the round.
Osmo has developed proprietary AI technology called Olfactory Intelligence that enables the complete product lifecycle—from formula creation to manufacturing and packaging. The company serves both major consumer product corporations and emerging brands, making custom fragrance development accessible to clients who previously couldn't afford million-dollar budgets.
"Osmo is unlocking an entirely new sensory dimension for AI," said Colin Beirne, Partner at Two Sigma Ventures and new Osmo board observer. "Osmo proves this technology works commercially, democratizing access to custom fragrance development that was previously available only to brands spending millions. But fragrance is just the beginning. We're backing the infrastructure layer for digital olfaction, with applications spanning healthcare diagnostics to environmental monitoring."
The Series B funding will accelerate Osmo's deployment across multiple sectors. For enterprise clients, the technology reduces fragrance costs and speeds up time-to-market. Emerging brands gain access to custom fragrance development at price points that weren't previously available to them.
The company plans to extend its technology beyond commercial fragrance applications into healthcare diagnostics and environmental monitoring, positioning itself as the foundational platform for digital olfaction technology.
Alongside the funding announcement, Osmo unveiled its expanded executive team, strategically assembled to scale commercial operations. Mike Rytokoski joins as Chief Commercial Officer, bringing three decades of consumer packaged goods experience from leadership positions at Unilever, Clorox, and Goodyear. He most recently served as President for ingredients and fragrances at Amyris and previously led operations as President for Latin America and Asia at Clorox.
Mateusz Brzuchacz joins as Chief Operating Officer with over 15 years in the flavors and fragrances industry from Phoenix Flavors & Fragrances, Givaudan, and IFF. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Phoenix Flavors & Fragrances and Chief Information Officer at Tilley Distribution.
Nate Pearson joins as Chief Financial Officer, bringing financial leadership experience scaling high-growth brands including Tesla, Lagunitas, and LifeAID. Most recently, he served as VP of Finance for Mercedes-Benz's North American EV charging platform, overseeing more than $1 billion in assets.
Olfactory neuroscientist Alex Wiltschko founded Osmo in 2022 as a spin-off from Google Brain. The company achieved a significant milestone in 2024 with Scent Teleportation—the world's first complete digitization of scent without human intervention. Osmo has also built the industry's largest structured scent data library.
"What excites me most is that we're building technology that will fundamentally change how entire industries harness the power of scent to improve the health and wellbeing of humans," said Alex Wiltschko, CEO and Founder of Osmo. "With this funding and our new executive team, we're building the commercial, operational, and financial capabilities to truly scale Olfactory Intelligence within the fragrance industry and beyond."
The company also welcomed Boet Brinkgreve as an independent board member. Brinkgreve brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of science and premium consumer markets, having led operations at dsm-firmenich, the world's largest fragrance company, and the fragrance division at Richemont.
Osmo is backed by Lux Capital, Google Ventures, and Two Sigma Ventures, along with the investors participating in this Series B round. The company combines proprietary molecular data, machine learning, and human artistry to create fragrances that serve clients across the size spectrum.
