Allen Control Systems (ACS), a developer of autonomous precision robotics for defense, has closed a $30 million Series A funding round. The raise was led by Craft Ventures, with continued support from Inspired Capital and Rally Ventures. The capital will support the rollout of Bullfrog™, ACS' AI-enabled robotic weapon system, and expand its engineering team.

This new round follows early backing from Inspired Capital and Rally Ventures, both returning to deepen their support.

Addressing the Growing Threat of Unmanned Systems

Autonomous systems are rapidly reshaping modern warfare, especially as drones and other unmanned vehicles become more accessible and effective. ACS aims to meet this shift head-on with Bullfrog, its AI-powered robotic weapon station that turns traditional weapons into highly accurate, autonomous systems. Bullfrog is designed to protect high-value targets from the increasing threat posed by unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

"High-value targets around the world are at risk from small unmanned systems. The urgent need for scalable, effective air defense solutions is creating immediate opportunities across the Department of Defense, international allies, and commercial sectors," said Mike Wior, co-founder and CEO of ACS.

Funding to Accelerate Field Deployment and Engineering Expansion

With the fresh capital, ACS plans to scale the deployment of Bullfrog units and bolster its engineering operations. The company is focused on bringing its technology to defense agencies, allies, and even certain commercial use cases where unmanned threats are present.

ACS will also showcase its systems at the upcoming JCO Counter-UxS demonstration this April, a key opportunity to validate the capabilities of Bullfrog in live defense scenarios.

Building Smarter Defense Systems with AI and Vision Tech

Founded to close critical defense gaps, ACS specializes in transforming legacy or modern weapon systems into autonomous platforms through the use of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and proprietary control technologies. Its core offering, Bullfrog, enables real-time, AI-assisted targeting to significantly improve accuracy and effectiveness in dynamic combat environments.

Based in Austin, Texas, with offices in Alexandria, Virginia, and Huntsville, Alabama, ACS positions itself as a key innovator in autonomous battlefield technology. The team is led by CEO Mike Wior, who co-founded the company with a mission to equip U.S. and allied forces with more adaptable and efficient tools.

Backing From Defense-Focused VCs

Craft Ventures led the Series A round, highlighting the strategic importance of ACS’ counter-drone technology. “ACS’ technology is a necessity as we enter the next era of defense,” said Jeff Fluhr, co-founder and partner at Craft Ventures.

Returning investors Inspired Capital and Rally Ventures also joined the round. Their continued backing signals confidence in ACS’ long-term role in shaping modern battlefield strategies.
