Appy.AI has raised $5 million in seed funding to launch the first platform that lets anyone build and sell AI agents through simple conversation. The round was led by Dan Scholnick at Four Rivers, with participation from Founder Collective.
The company's platform, now in public beta, removes traditional barriers to AI development. Users can create production-ready AI businesses without writing code or managing technical workflows. The system handles everything from payment processing to customer authentication, delivering a complete business infrastructure rather than just generated code.
The AI development landscape has focused heavily on code generation tools, but these solutions often produce prototypes that need significant technical work before becoming viable businesses. Most platforms require users to understand programming concepts, manage hosting, set up payment systems, and handle dozens of technical decisions.
"The market has solved the wrong problem," said Aaron White, CEO and founder of Appy.AI. "Everyone is focused on generating code, but code isn't a business. Building something people will actually pay for requires both domain expertise and business infrastructure—the boring stuff that turns a clever demo into recurring revenue. We've built something fundamentally different."
The platform uses a conversational AI system that actively interviews builders about their ideas. This approach helps users discover requirements they might not have considered, ensuring more complete and professional results. Rather than expecting users to know exactly what prompts to use, the system guides them through the entire creation process.
Early beta users have already seen impressive results. Several report moving from initial concept to paying customers within minutes, a process that traditionally takes months of development and setup. The platform includes production-ready deployment with guaranteed uptime, integrated Stripe payment processing, subscription management, and white-label branding options. Each AI agent also comes with its own marketing website, analytics dashboard, and customer support system.
Appy.AI was founded by experienced engineers and product leaders with multiple successful exits. The team believes software creation will expand dramatically over the next decade, but questions who will build these new applications.
"There will be 10x more software in the world over the next decade," added White. "The question is: who gets to create it? Will it be another generation of venture-backed startups, or will it be the millions of domain experts who actually understand the problems worth solving? We're betting on the experts."
The platform stands out from competitors by eliminating token fees and usage restrictions during its beta period. While other platforms charge hundreds of dollars monthly in token fees for active development, Appy.AI offers completely free access through October 2025. This strategy allows the company to gather user feedback while demonstrating confidence in their approach.
The seed round brings together investors with deep experience in both AI and business platforms. Four Rivers, led by Dan Scholnick, brings expertise in scaling technical platforms. Founder Collective adds their track record of supporting founders building accessible technology tools.
The funding will support platform development, user acquisition, and infrastructure scaling as more builders join the platform. After the beta period ends, Appy.AI plans to introduce transparent pricing without token fees or usage limits, maintaining their focus on accessibility. The company aims to prove that sophisticated AI business creation doesn't require technical expertise or large budgets.
