Avanzanite Bioscience has closed a €32 million Series A round led by MVM Partners, a global life sciences private equity firm. The investment marks a significant milestone for the Amsterdam-based specialty pharmaceutical company, which has tripled its revenue year-over-year in Q3 2025 while establishing itself as a partner for rare disease medicine commercialization across Europe.
MVM Partners is committing funds from its €500 million sixth fund and has reserved additional capital for future growth. The firm becomes Avanzanite's first institutional investor and will join the company's board of directors.
The funding comes at a time when many promising orphan medicines struggle to reach patients across Europe's fragmented healthcare landscape. Avanzanite has built a fully integrated operation spanning all 32 European countries, combining commercial expertise with deep capabilities in market access, pricing, and reimbursement.
The company aims to fill a gap where traditional distribution models often fall short. By operating under one pan-European structure, Avanzanite helps biotech and pharmaceutical innovators bring their rare disease treatments to patients across the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland.
The Series A capital will fund expansion of Avanzanite's existing infrastructure across its 32-country footprint. The company plans to accelerate current product launches while pursuing additional strategic alliances and asset acquisitions to grow its portfolio.
Avanzanite's revenue climbed over 20% quarter-on-quarter in Q3 2025, building on strong momentum. The company is working toward a 2032 vision of establishing more than ten rare disease alliances and setting a new standard for orphan medicine commercialization in Europe.
Since its 2022 founding, Avanzanite has moved quickly to establish itself in the specialty pharmaceutical space. The company has formed three strategic alliances and actively launched three rare disease medicines across therapeutic areas including nephrology, ophthalmology, and hematology.
Adam Plich, founder and CEO of Avanzanite, emphasized the significance of the partnership. "We are truly honoured to partner with MVM, a top-tier investor in life sciences. Their investment is far more than capital – it demonstrates conviction in our mission and belief in the 'Champions League' team that powers Avanzanite," Plich said. "With MVM's support we will scale faster, expand with new partnerships and assets, and advance towards our 2032 vision of a pan-European platform with more than ten rare disease alliances – setting a new European standard for orphan medicine commercialisation and patient access. While this milestone reflects how far we've come, it is just the beginning of our journey."
The company's approach centers on navigating Europe's complex regulatory and reimbursement environment to ensure patient access while delivering value to its biotech and pharmaceutical partners.
MVM Partners brings extensive experience in healthcare investing, with a portfolio spanning medical technology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and other sectors since 1997. The firm operates teams in Boston, London, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr. Jack Tanaka, partner at MVM, highlighted what attracted the firm to Avanzanite. "For years MVM has watched promising rare disease medicines struggle to find a path to patients - Avanzanite breaks this pattern. In a short space of time, Avanzanite has successfully launched multiple rare disease products. Their experienced leadership team and pan-European footprint make them the stand-out partner. We are excited to support Avanzanite in bringing more transformative therapies to patients across Europe."
The investment positions Avanzanite to continue building its portfolio while maintaining its focus on ensuring no European patient is left without access to approved rare disease treatments.
