Texas-based Base Power has raised $200 million in Series B funding to accelerate its expansion across the U.S. and scale its domestic manufacturing operations. The round was co-led by Addition, Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Valor Equity Partners. Returning investors included Thrive Capital, Altimeter, Terrain, and Trust.
The new capital will fund Base Power’s first factory in Texas as it aims to meet growing demand for its battery-powered home energy service. The company is preparing for national rollout after a rapid rise in key Texas metro areas including Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and Austin.
Energy consumption in the U.S. is increasing, and Base Power is positioning itself as a key player in ensuring grid stability and household resilience. The company offers an affordable, reliable battery storage service for homeowners and works directly with utilities and homebuilders to drive adoption.
“Our rapid expansion has allowed us to power up thousands of Texans in just a few months, while driving their energy costs down and power reliability up,” said Zach Dell, CEO and Co-Founder of Base Power.
The new funding will support the development of Base Power’s first factory in Texas. This facility will allow the company to scale production to meet demand, while also improving supply chain control, cost efficiency, and grid integration.
Base Power also plans to further its national expansion and continue innovating its grid infrastructure offerings. The startup aims to attract top talent and solidify its position as a key enabler in the energy transition.
Founded in 2023 and based in Austin, Base Power has quickly become one of the fastest-growing battery storage developers in the country. It has established strategic partnerships with Lennar, a major U.S. homebuilder, and Bandera Electric, its first utility partner.
The company’s engineering and operations team includes veterans from Tesla, SpaceX, Anduril, Apple, and Blackstone—bringing cross-industry infrastructure and technology expertise to a sector in need of modernization.
Dell emphasized the company’s broader mission: “We will continue to innovate on new grid solutions, establish our domestic manufacturing capabilities, and accelerate adoption nationally.”
As part of the Series B, Addition founder Lee Fixel joins Base Power’s board alongside Antonio Gracias of Valor Equity Partners.
“Base Power has made extraordinary progress in a short time, demonstrating its ability to deliver innovative energy solutions that are both cost-effective and reliable,” said Fixel.
