BKN301 Group has closed a €21.5 million Series B funding round to accelerate its global growth and scale its Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering. The company confirmed that the capital will support both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
The round includes participation from new institutional, industrial, and private investors such as CDP Venture Capital SGR (via the Digital Transition Fund), Azimut Libera Impresa SGR through the Azimut Digitech Fund (advised by FNDX), SIMEST (via the F.394/81 fund), and Alisei Forinvestments led by Aldo Fumagalli. Existing investors, including SM Capital, Prosus Group, CRIF, Abalone Group, Federico Ghizzoni, and Fabio Nalucci, also joined the round.
BKN301 operates in the growing BaaS sector, which enables third parties to offer embedded financial services via API-based platforms. As demand for digital financial infrastructure increases worldwide, BKN301 is positioning itself to serve new markets with a flexible and scalable model.
“Closing a Series B round in today’s market environment is a major achievement and signals the beginning of an exciting new growth phase for BKN301,” said Stiven Muccioli, Co-Founder and CEO. “Our goal remains clear: to bring an efficient, scalable, and innovative Banking-as-a-Service model to global markets.”
The new funds will help BKN301 expand internationally by entering new markets and pursuing select acquisitions. The company also plans to scale the capabilities of its BKN301 BaaS Orchestrator, its core platform that supports partners in launching financial and payment services.
BKN301 is focused on building a modular infrastructure that can be tailored to the needs of banks, fintechs, and enterprise clients looking to embed payments and other financial functions. With its new industrial plan, the company projects a 36% CAGR in EBITDA by 2028.
Founded in San Marino, BKN301 has quickly grown into a global player in the fintech infrastructure space. Led by Stiven Muccioli, the company serves clients across multiple countries with its BaaS and embedded finance solutions.
The company stands out for its focus on emerging markets and its ability to offer customizable, API-based services that reduce time-to-market for financial products. BKN301’s solutions enable institutions to launch services with minimal overhead and regulatory complexity.
The Series B round brings together a mix of institutional, strategic, and private investors, reflecting strong confidence in BKN301’s direction. New backers include CDP Venture Capital SGR, the venture arm of Italy’s national promotional institution, which supports innovation and the digital transition of the economy. Azimut Libera Impresa SGR, through the Azimut Digitech Fund, brings deep fintech investment experience under the advisory of FNDX, a firm specializing in financial innovation.
SIMEST, part of Italy’s Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) group, joined through a fund managed on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aligning with the company’s international ambitions. Also joining is Alisei Forinvestments, the investment vehicle of Aldo Fumagalli, a well-known Italian entrepreneur with a background in industrial ventures.
Returning investors from earlier rounds — including SM Capital, Prosus Group (a global consumer internet investor and part of Naspers), CRIF (a major global credit information company), Abalone Group, and private investors such as Federico Ghizzoni (former CEO of UniCredit) and Fabio Nalucci (founder of GELLIFY) — add continuity and sector expertise.
Together, this group brings not only capital, but also strategic knowledge and global networks to help BKN301 scale effectively and compete internationally.
