Blackwall, formerly known as BotGuard, has secured a €45 million Series B funding round, with Dawn Capital leading the investment and MMC Ventures participating. The company, which provides AI-powered security and web infrastructure solutions, plans to use the capital to scale operations, double its workforce, and expand further into key global markets.
With 50% of all global web traffic coming from bots, two-thirds of which are malicious, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) face increasing security risks. Unlike large enterprises that can afford in-house solutions, SMBs often lack access to affordable protection.
Blackwall partners with Hosting Service Providers (HSPs) and Managed Service Providers (MSPs), who support thousands of SMBs, providing scalable security solutions that enhance performance and reduce costs.
"With Blackwall, we are taking our mission to the next level—delivering gold-standard infrastructure protection to SMBs that have traditionally been overlooked," said Nikita Rozenberg, Co-Founder & CEO of Blackwall.
The new funding will be used to accelerate global growth and expand partnerships. Blackwall has already launched into the U.S. and APAC regions and aims to increase headcount while driving product innovation.
Blackwall's flagship product, GateKeeper, is a next-generation reverse proxy that protects websites from automated threats while maximizing efficiency for hosting providers. By integrating AI-powered detection, it helps MSPs and HSPs reduce operational costs by up to 25% while improving performance for end users.
Founded in 2019 by Nikita Rozenberg (CEO) and Denis Prochko (CTO), Blackwall has grown to secure over 2.3 million websites and applications worldwide. The company is focused on helping SMBs defend against AI-driven cyber threats, a growing concern in the security space.
Dawn Capital, a leading European B2B investor with over $2 billion in assets under management, led the round, reaffirming its commitment to supporting fast-scaling technology firms. Norman Fiore, General Partner at Dawn Capital, emphasized the company’s growth potential:
"Nik and Denis have devised a winning, channel-first strategy for their excellent product, and relentlessly executed on their bold vision. Blackwall has only scratched the surface of the expansive opportunity in North America and APAC."
MMC Ventures, which previously invested in Blackwall, also participated in the Series B round. Mina Samaan, General Partner at MMC Ventures, highlighted Blackwall’s strategic approach to cybersecurity at the infrastructure level, which provides much-needed protection for SMBs and hosting providers alike.
With this funding, Norman Fiore (Dawn Capital) and Shamillah Bankiya (Dawn Capital) have joined Blackwall’s board. Additionally, Roi Carthy, Co-Founder & CEO at Hudson Rock, has joined as Executive Chairman, further strengthening the company’s leadership team.
