CHAOS Industries, a fast-growing defense technology company, has announced a $275 million Series C funding round. The investment brings the company’s total raised since its inception in 2022 to $490 million.
The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and co-led by Accel. Additional support came from StepStone Group, Overmatch Ventures, Tru Arrow Partners, and Valor Equity Partners.
CHAOS Industries develops next-generation systems aimed at strengthening national and allied security infrastructure. Its products focus on real-time detection, monitoring, and communication across complex environments.
“The U.S. and its allies are facing an increasingly complex threat environment that must be met with persistent technological innovation,” said Co-CEO Dr. Bo Marr.
The new capital will help CHAOS Industries improve the performance of its proprietary detection and communication systems. Plans include scaling up manufacturing capacity and accelerating development of its core technologies.
The company is especially focused on expanding its Coherent Distributed Networks™ platform, which powers high-performance sensors and effectors. Its flagship product, Vanquish™, offers dual-use radar capabilities to detect drones, aircraft, and missile threats.
Founded in 2022 by John Tenet, Dr. Bo Marr, Gavin Hood, and Brett Cummings, CHAOS Industries applies a sprint-based engineering model for rapid prototyping and deployment. Its founding team brings experience from Epirus, Raytheon, Palantir, and the UK Secret Intelligence Service.
Earlier this year, the company named George J. Tenet—former Director of Central Intelligence—as Executive Chairman. His leadership and security background are expected to support strategic growth.
This latest round follows a $145 million Series B raised in November 2024, led by Accel and supported by 8VC, Overmatch Ventures, and Lerner Enterprises. NEA’s continued backing highlights long-term confidence in CHAOS Industries’ role in future defense strategy.
“Chaos has architected a sensing and command infrastructure that addresses one of the most persistent asymmetries in modern defense,” said Scott Sandell, Executive Chairman & CIO at NEA. “We’re proud to lead this round as the company redefines how sensing infrastructure is deployed across U.S. and allied missions, scales to meet urgent demand.”
