Code Metal, a verifiable code translation company serving defense and other high-stakes industries, has closed a $125 million Series B round at a $1.25 billion valuation. The round was led by Salesforce Ventures, with participation from Accel, B Capital, Smith Point Capital, J2 Ventures, Shield Capital, Overmatch, and RTX, among others. Alongside the funding, the company announced that Ryan Aytay, former CEO of Tableau, has joined as President and Chief Operating Officer.
The round comes just months after Code Metal's Series A, a remarkably short window that reflects both the company's growth rate and the speed at which defense and regulated industries are moving to adopt AI they can actually trust. By revenue growth, contract size, and adoption pace among top-tier government and enterprise customers, Code Metal ranks among the fastest-growing defense technology companies in the market today.
Generating code with AI is no longer the hard part. The hard part is proving that the code is correct before it runs on a fighter jet, an autonomous vehicle, or a semiconductor device. In mission-critical environments, a bug is not a patch away from being fixed. It can ground a fleet, disable a system, or cause real harm. Code Metal's neuro-symbolic method mathematically verifies code rather than just producing it.
Customers including Toshiba, RTX, L3Harris, and the U.S. Air Force already use the platform to move between programming languages and optimize software for specialized hardware, without sacrificing accuracy or compliance.
"Mission-critical industries cannot deploy what they cannot verify," said Rob Keith, Partner at Salesforce Ventures. "In just one year, demand has pulled Code Metal into programs of record across the U.S. Air Force, L3Harris, and more."
The new capital will go toward adding engineering capacity, accelerating product development, and expanding commercial and government partnerships. Code Metal also plans to scale its go-to-market operations to keep pace with demand already coming in from defense, automotive, and semiconductor customers.
Peter Morales, founder and CEO, put it plainly: "Speed without proof is not enough. We are building the infrastructure that ensures software can be trusted before deployment."
Ryan Aytay brings substantial experience to the role. As CEO of Tableau and a long-time senior leader at Salesforce, he helped build one of the most successful enterprise software businesses in history. At Code Metal, he will focus on scaling operations, commercial execution, and partnerships across defense, automotive, and other regulated industries.
Aytay's appointment signals that Code Metal is not just a technology company anymore. It is building the operational infrastructure to compete at enterprise scale.
B Capital General Partner Yan-David Erlich pointed to Code Metal's defense traction as the key driver. "We've been impressed by Code Metal's strong traction, particularly in helping defense customers develop and deploy on edge devices in safety-critical settings," he said.
The Series B brings together a broad group of backers spanning enterprise software, defense-focused funds, and strategic corporate investors: Salesforce Ventures, Accel, B Capital, J2 Ventures, Shield Capital, Smith Point Capital, Overmatch, and RTX. The depth of that investor group reflects how seriously the market is taking the problem Code Metal is solving.
