CodeRabbit, the AI code review platform, has closed a $60 million Series B funding round led by Scale Venture Partners. The round included participation from NVentures: NVIDIA Venture Capital, alongside existing investors CRV, Harmony Partners, Flex Capital, Engineering Capital and Pelion Venture Partners. This brings the company's total funding to $88 million.
Andy Vitus, Partner at Scale Venture Partners, will join CodeRabbit's board as part of the investment. The funding positions CodeRabbit to accelerate global hiring initiatives, advance product development, and expand its platform capabilities across multiple development environments.
The timing reflects a critical need in software development. As AI coding tools enable engineers to generate code at unprecedented speeds, traditional review processes have become bottlenecks. Teams are writing code faster than they can properly review, test, and deploy it safely. This creates downstream problems that actually reduce the productivity gains AI tools promise.
"CodeRabbit has emerged as the clear leader in AI code reviews, acting as the governance layer AI development desperately needs," said Andy Vitus, Partner at Scale Venture Partners. "They've built a code review system that works well even for large codebases while delivering the accuracy and rigor of a senior engineer."
The company's latest release directly tackles these challenges by adding AI reviews in the command line interface to complement existing reviews across integrated development environments and Git platforms. This creates what the company calls a "trust layer" that enables teams to maintain velocity without compromising code quality.
CodeRabbit plans to use the new capital primarily for three key areas. The company will significantly expand its global workforce, with plans to more than double headcount by early 2026. Product development will receive major investment to build more features and deeper context layers. Platform expansion will extend CodeRabbit's reach across additional development tools and workflows.
The funding comes as CodeRabbit experiences remarkable market traction. The company has grown revenue by 10x in the past year while more than doubling its workforce in under a quarter. Current momentum includes over 8,000 paying customers and 100,000+ open-source projects using the platform.
CodeRabbit was founded on the principle that effective AI code reviews require deep contextual understanding. The platform dynamically gathers intelligence from dozens of sources including custom review instructions, code graphs, historical pull requests, project management tickets from Jira and Linear, coding agent guidelines, and architectural documents.
"AI-generated code is here to stay, but speed without a centralized knowledge base and an independent governance layer is a recipe for disaster," said Harjot Gill, co-founder and CEO of CodeRabbit. "Code review is the most critical quality gate in the agentic software lifecycle, and you have to build AI agents that are context-aware so they can catch the bugs that are hardest to find."
This approach enables CodeRabbit to identify security flaws, recommend architectural improvements, and enforce best practices that simpler tools miss. The platform integrates across the entire development lifecycle, working within command line interfaces, popular code editors like VS Code, Cursor, and Windsurf, and Git platforms including GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps and Bitbucket.
The platform's effectiveness shows in customer results. Groupon implemented CodeRabbit to accelerate feature delivery across its software lifecycle. The results were dramatic: average code review-to-production time dropped from 86 hours to just 39 minutes.
"Groupon looked toward AI coding tools to speed up its feature delivery cycles in every aspect of the software lifecycle. After adopting CodeRabbit, our average code review-to-production time came down from a whopping 86 hours to just 39 minutes, greatly speeding up our release cycles," said Tomas Zaruba, Technical Manager in the CEO's office at Groupon.
Scale Venture Partners leads this round as part of their focus on AI development tools infrastructure. The firm recognizes CodeRabbit's position as the category-defining platform in AI code reviews. NVentures: NVIDIA Venture Capital's participation reflects the strategic importance of code quality tools in the AI development ecosystem.
The investor group also includes several returning backers who have supported CodeRabbit's growth from earlier stages. CRV, Harmony Partners, Flex Capital, Engineering Capital and Pelion Venture Partners continue their investment in the company's mission to provide reliable AI-powered code review capabilities.
