Data security platform Cyera has closed a $540 million Series E funding round, bringing its valuation to $6 billion and total capital raised to over $1.3 billion. The raise comes just six months after its previous round, underscoring intense investor confidence in Cyera’s momentum and market positioning.
The round was led by Georgian, Greenoaks, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with continued support from Accel, Coatue, Cyberstarts, Redpoint, Sapphire Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Spark Capital. Cyera has now raised three rounds in the past 18 months, rapidly scaling its growth and reach.
Cyera sits at the intersection of two fast-moving trends: enterprise adoption of AI and the increasing urgency of securing sensitive data across hybrid environments. As businesses implement generative AI, copilots, and large foundation models, the data powering those systems becomes a high-value target.
“Investors are doubling down where the market is moving and where there is proven traction,” said Yotam Segev, co-founder and CEO of Cyera. “Cyera’s focus on data security is the most critical capability the enterprise needs to adopt AI responsibly.”
The new funds will support Cyera’s expansion in multiple areas, from broadening product capabilities on its unified data security platform to growing its global footprint. The company plans to continue hiring top talent, pursue strategic acquisitions, and deepen integrations with key technology and services partners.
In the last 18 months, Cyera has:
Founded just four years ago, Cyera is positioning itself as the go-to platform for securing enterprise data at the scale and speed AI now requires. The company’s unified approach helps businesses locate, classify, and safeguard sensitive information—across cloud, SaaS, databases, and on-prem environments.
Its strength lies in its AI-native architecture and a classification engine that breaks away from traditional, rules-based systems. This shift has earned the company widespread recognition from CISOs seeking smarter, faster ways to manage security risks in the AI era.
Recent high-profile hires include Sol Rashidi (formerly of AWS), Dave Rogers (Palo Alto Networks), Amit Raikar (Zscaler), and the addition of Frank Slootman to Cyera’s Board of Directors.
Investors see Cyera as the company best positioned to solve the emerging risks tied to uncontrolled data growth and fragmented infrastructure.
“We backed Cyera early because we believed in the team and the vision, particularly its focus on AI adoption protecting data across the enterprise,” said Steve Leightell of Georgian. “We believe that Cyera is leading in the category, and we are excited to invest further to support this next stage of growth.”
Guru Chahal of Lightspeed added, “When we spoke to CISOs and security leaders, Cyera was the name that kept coming up. What stood out wasn’t just the technology; it was that customers saw Cyera as the only platform capable of securing data at the speed and scale that AI now demands.”
Patrick Backhouse of Greenoaks echoed that sentiment: “AI has turned this blind spot into an existential risk. We believe Cyera has built the world’s best data security platform, with a classification engine that is dramatically better than the rules-based paradigm, and which has earned genuine love from CISOs across industries.”
