Electric mobility subscription company Dance has successfully closed a €12 million funding round, comprising both equity and asset-backed debt financing. This latest investment round reflects strong investor confidence in Dance’s mission to transform urban transportation with flexible, sustainable mobility solutions.
New equity investors include Elemental, a Berlin-based sustainability and lifestyle investor, alongside notable individual investors Uli Schöberl (Apple) and Piotr Brzezinski (Fabric London). The asset-backed debt facility was secured from Paris-based Smart Lenders Asset Management, providing non-dilutive funding to fuel Dance’s next growth phase.
With over 10,000 customers and 80+ corporate clients, Dance is actively working to reshape city commuting with hassle-free e-bike and e-moped subscriptions. As cities aim for cleaner, more efficient transport options, Dance offers a practical, flexible alternative to ownership.
"We believe cities deserve better transportation options," said Eric Quidenus-Wahlforss, Founder and CEO of Dance. "At Dance, we’re leading this change with a premium, hassle-free e-bike subscription that empowers people to move freely and sustainably."
Dance plans to allocate its latest funding towards fleet expansion, hardware and software enhancements, and market growth. The company remains committed to achieving full-year EBITDA profitability by 2025, reinforcing its long-term sustainability.
The asset-backed debt facility represents a major milestone in Dance’s growth strategy, offering scalable financing typically reserved for fintech and asset-heavy businesses.
"The type of financing we’re providing is typically reserved for larger players in the fintech industry. At Smart Lenders AM, we value innovations that deliver results, and Dance is a great example," said Erich Bonnet, CEO of Smart Lenders AM.
Founded in 2020, Dance was established by SoundCloud founders Eric Quidenus-Wahlforss and Alexander Ljung, along with Christian Springub, co-founder of Jimdo. The company operates in Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich (Germany) and Paris (France), offering all-inclusive electric mobility subscriptions with maintenance and repairs included.
Dance’s investor roster includes Eurazeo, Elemental, and 4P Capital, among others. The company continues to attract investors committed to urban sustainability and clean mobility solutions.
