Otomato, a startup that watches users' crypto positions around the clock and alerts them when something materially changes, has raised $2 million from UK-based venture builder Improbable. The company was founded by Clement Hecquet and Dylan Breugne and targets a specific pain point in decentralized finance: most people managing crypto portfolios across multiple platforms have no reliable way to know when something goes wrong until it already has.
Managing a DeFi portfolio today means logging into multiple dashboards, tracking positions across different blockchains, and hoping you notice a problem before it costs you money. A lending position can hit its liquidation threshold in minutes. A stablecoin can lose its peg overnight. Generic notification tools exist, but they tend to flood users with alerts that do not actually require action. According to Grand View Research, the global DeFi market was valued at $26.94 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $1,417.65 billion by 2033, growing at a compound annual rate of 68.2%. As more money flows into the space, the problem Otomato is trying to solve will only get harder to ignore.
This is one of the first external investments Improbable has made under its current focus on companies building at the intersection of artificial intelligence and web3.
Active DeFi users typically hold positions across several protocols and networks at once. They might be lending assets on one platform, providing liquidity on another, and trading derivatives on a third, each with its own interface and risk profile. Traditional monitoring tools were not built for this kind of fragmented setup, and the cost of missing an alert can be significant.
Otomato removes the need to watch dashboards at all. Users provide a wallet address, and the platform identifies every open position automatically, across lending, tokens, NFTs, and prediction markets. It then monitors those positions in real time across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and HyperEVM, sending alerts only when something actually warrants attention.
"The opportunity Otomato is pursuing is enormous. DeFi is becoming the back-end of a larger AI-powered economy, and the first team to build the intelligence layer that understands what users actually hold and tells them what matters has the potential to win an entire category. Otomato gives customers agency and full control of their positions, something that they were lacking before. What convinced us to back Clement, Dylan, and the team was their drive. They shipped a product users genuinely love, grew it virally with no paid spend, and they are moving faster than almost any team I have seen at this stage. That is exactly the kind of founder we set out to build with." — Herman Narula, Co-Founder & CEO of Improbable.
The funding will go toward product development, broader coverage across chains and asset types, and go-to-market efforts. Beyond capital, the deal gives Otomato access to Improbable's operational infrastructure, which includes support across go-to-market strategy, technical development, AI, finance, legal, HR, and compliance. The company keeps full ownership of its intellectual property and control over its roadmap.
The near-term priority is growth. Otomato currently has more than 2,000 users, and the team wants to scale that significantly. Expanding the number of supported protocols and adding new blockchain networks are both part of the plan, which would make the product useful to a wider range of DeFi participants.
"We chose Improbable because they are builders that bring more than a passive check. From day one we have had hands-on support on go-to-market, product, and scaling decisions from an executive team that has done this before. That is what moves a company like ours from 2,000 users to millions, and it is what made the decision easy. We look forward to building together as we scale Otomato." — Clement Hecquet, CEO & Co-Founder, Otomato.
Hecquet serves as CEO and Breugne as COO. The company started as a Telegram bot and has grown to over 2,000 users, with more than 1,500 of them actively receiving alerts. It currently supports ten or more protocols, including AAVE, Pendle, Uniswap, Morpho, Euler, and Hyperliquid. A consumer app became available on the App Store and Google Play in April 2026.
Getting started takes under 30 seconds. Users enter a wallet address and Otomato handles everything else, detecting positions automatically and delivering relevant alerts via mobile app or Telegram. No manual setup, no configuration, no dashboards to monitor.
In December 2025, the team ran a campaign tied to the HyperEVM ecosystem called HyperEVM Wrapped. It brought in 3,690 unique users over five days, converted 81.6% of them into Telegram bot users, and was shared 971 times on X. No paid promotion was involved. The numbers suggest early product-market fit and an audience willing to spread the word on their own.
Improbable led the $2 million round. The firm works directly with founders on building and scaling companies rather than taking a hands-off approach, and it allows ventures to retain ownership of their technology and long-term direction. Improbable has delivered total exits of more than $179 million to date. In September 2025, the Somnia Foundation launched a Layer 1 blockchain built on Improbable-developed technology, which reached a peak valuation of $1.9 billion. Otomato is among the first companies backed externally under Improbable's current investment model.
