DiligentIQ, a platform leveraging AI to optimize due diligence in private equity, has raised $12 million in a two-tranche Series A funding round led by FINTOP Capital and JAM FINTOP. The fresh capital will fuel the company’s growth, expanding its reach across private markets and further developing its technology to support investment professionals.
DiligentIQ’s AI-powered platform enhances due diligence by automating the analysis of virtual data room (VDR) documents, offering investment teams clear, actionable insights. The technology is designed to streamline manual workflows, allowing professionals to assess risks and opportunities with greater efficiency.
As private equity firms deal with increasing data volumes and tighter deal timelines, AI is becoming a critical tool in investment decision-making. DiligentIQ addresses these challenges by automating document processing and extracting essential insights, reducing the manual workload for investment professionals.
"We're excited to partner with FinTop Capital as we bring AI-powered intelligence to the due diligence process in private markets," said Ed Brandman, Founder and CEO of DiligentIQ. "Our platform serves as a co-pilot for investment teams, enabling them to streamline analysis of VDR documents and focus on what drives deal value."
The Series A funding will support team expansion, product enhancements, and deeper integrations with private market investment workflows. A portion of the funds will be directed toward advancing the platform’s AI capabilities, improving automation, and refining data extraction techniques.
Additionally, DiligentIQ plans to expand its market presence, onboarding more private equity firms, family offices, and diligence advisory firms. By optimizing its go-to-market strategy, the company aims to position itself as a fundamental tool in private market investment.
DiligentIQ was founded by Ed Brandman, former Partner, CIO, and Head of Credit Operations at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR). With extensive experience in private markets, Brandman recognized the potential of generative AI in addressing the challenges of due diligence, leading to the creation of DiligentIQ’s AI-powered platform.
Currently, the company serves top-tier investment firms, including HarbourVest Partners, Fortress Investment Group, Investcorp, and PPC Enterprises.
"DiligentIQ is more than just another AI tool, it’s a transformational force in private markets," said Rick Kushel, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of FINTOP Capital. "Ed and his team have built a purpose-driven platform that not only accelerates due diligence but enhances the quality of investment decision-making."
The investment from FINTOP Capital, JAM FINTOP, and other investors signals growing confidence in AI’s role within private market investment. With over 65 GPs, LPs, and family offices already leveraging DiligentIQ, the company is well-positioned to scale further.
