Doppel has closed a $70 million Series C round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, bringing total funding to $124 million and pushing the company's valuation past $600 million. The round comes just six months after its Series B, marking a threefold increase in valuation during that period.
The AI-native social engineering defense platform attracted notable first-time investors, including George Kurtz, CEO of CrowdStrike, NTT DOCOMO Ventures, and Aurum Partners, the investment fund affiliated with the San Francisco 49ers owners. A group of WNBA players—Nneka Ogwumike, Breanna Stewart, and Kelsey Plum—joined through the a16z Cultural Leadership Fund. Previous backers Andreessen Horowitz, South Park Commons, Script Capital, 9Yards Capital, Sozo Ventures, and Strategic Cyber Ventures participated again.
Generative AI has fundamentally changed how cybercriminals operate. Attackers now create hyper-personalized social engineering campaigns across social media, messaging apps, paid ads, and the dark web. These threats move quickly and adapt constantly, demanding equally sophisticated defense systems.
Doppel addresses this challenge with multi-channel protection powered by agentic AI and a real-time threat graph. The platform detects threats, connects related attacks, and automates takedowns. It also strengthens employee awareness through deepfake-driven simulations and training programs.
"We're thrilled to double down on our partnership with Doppel, as their world-class team is truly unparalleled," said Elliott Robinson, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. "In my 20 years of working with startups, Doppel stands out with its incredible speed, massive ambition, and laser focus on execution, which is a clear recipe for success. We believe these qualities will solidify Doppel as the unquestioned leader in social engineering defense for years to come."
"I'm excited about what Doppel is delivering to combat social engineering attacks," said George Kurtz, CEO and Founder of CrowdStrike. "Cybercriminals are using AI, conducting increasingly sophisticated attacks to manipulate and deceive users. Doppel's traction with Fortune 500 enterprises illustrates market need for social engineering defense (SED) and impressive momentum."
The fresh capital will accelerate innovation across Doppel's Digital Risk Protection products and expand its Human Risk Management offerings. This includes Simulation and Security Awareness Training designed to convert employee awareness into measurable risk reduction.
Doppel launched its new Simulation product in August. The offering gained traction quickly, accounting for a significant portion of Q3 bookings. Strong early demand signals that organizations are ready to invest in comprehensive platforms that combine detection with employee training.
Founded by CEO Kevin Tian, Doppel now serves over 200 customers across financial services, energy, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, and media. The company's client roster includes dozens of Fortune 500 companies and recognizable brands like Coinbase, Ramp, Commerce, and Orrick.
Growth metrics tell the story. Doppel achieved three times annual recurring revenue growth year-over-year and more than quintupled its Fortune 500 customer base. The company has doubled its headcount in the past year and continues hiring across engineering, product, sales, and marketing while expanding internationally.
Real-world impact shows in customer results. Commerce, the parent company of BigCommerce and Feedonomics, relies on Doppel as a core security layer to protect its business and customers from impersonation attacks.
"As a global, publicly traded company, protecting our business and customers is vital," said Cayden Larkin, Security Analyst at Commerce, the parent company of BigCommerce and Feedonomics. "Doppel is a core layer of our security program, helping us to reduce risk by taking down impersonations across channels, and ultimately safeguarding our brand and reputation. We're excited by Doppel's pace of innovation and the impact it will continue to have on our customers and brand."
A Fortune 500 agriscience company reported a 93% reduction in exposed executive personally identifiable information after deploying Doppel, demonstrating how the platform protects leadership teams from targeted threats.
"As a global brand with highly visible executives, protecting our leadership team is paramount," said a CISO from a Fortune 500 agriscience leader. "Doppel has been a game-changer for our corporate security, driving a 93% reduction in exposed executive PII and proving vital to minimizing our risk profile. We are proud to call Doppel a great partner in ensuring our leadership's safety, and look forward to the continued innovation and impact."
Doppel recently completed work with OpenAI that represents a significant step forward in AI-driven security. The company fine-tuned OpenAI's models using thousands of expert cybersecurity decisions, creating an autonomous AI agent that detects and neutralizes complex social engineering threats in real time.
This technical achievement allows Doppel to automate responses at scale while maintaining the judgment typically required from human security analysts.
"We're proud to have the continued support of returning investors and to welcome new partners to our roster," said Kevin Tian, CEO and co-founder of Doppel. "Their support validates the strength of our vision and the work our team has accomplished. This signals confidence in the path we're on and reinforces our commitment to driving rapid growth. With this backing, we are positioned to continue scaling aggressively and creating meaningful impact in the market."
