Belgian startup Eagl has closed an €825,000 funding round to build the next generation of finance platforms. The company aims to eliminate manual work that bogs down finance teams and deliver real-time insights directly to CFOs.
The round was led by Syndicate One and CNBB Equity Partners, the investment firm behind ExactOnline and Yuki. Notable SaaS founders joined as investors, including Matthias Geeroms from Lighthouse, Joris Van Der Gucht from Silverfin and Ravical, Jeroen De Wit from Teamleader, and several others from the Belgian tech ecosystem.
Finance professionals spend roughly 70% of their time on data gathering, cleaning, and reconciliation rather than actual analysis. This creates a bottleneck that slows down month-end closes and adds stress to audit cycles.
"Most finance teams are stretched thin, fixing problems instead of adding real value," said Samuel Van Innis, Eagl co-founder & CEO. "Eagl turns days of manual checking into instant insights, empowering finance leaders to focus on strategic topics while auditors get cleaner books."
The platform connects directly to existing ERP and accounting systems, automatically monitoring data quality and resolving anomalies with full business context. This approach helps finance teams reduce errors while speeding up their core processes.
Eagl takes a different approach than legacy finance tools. While existing solutions have improved task tracking, they often leave teams still buried in manual work. Eagl was designed as an AI-native platform from day one.
"Beyond automating workflows, we continuously monitor data quality and resolve anomalies in real time," added Frederik Bakx, co-founder and CFO. "This means finance teams can close faster, scale efficiently, and cut down the time and stress of audits."
The company's platform plugs into a CFO's existing tech stack, ensuring accuracy across financial records while generating reports enriched with business context. This eliminates much of the repetitive work that typically consumes finance teams' time.
Eagl launched in April 2025, founded by Samuel Van Innis, Benoit Baervoets, Brecht Carnewal, and Frederik Bakx. The founding team brings experience from successful Belgian companies including Henchman, Rydoo, and Lighthouse.
The startup operates from Belgium and plans to use the new funding to expand its engineering team and scale across European markets. The company is also accelerating development of additional features for its AI-powered financial platform.
The funding round attracted significant interest from experienced SaaS founders who understand the finance automation space. Beyond the lead investors, participants include Lorenz Bogaert from Rydoo and StarApps, Louis Jonckheere from Showpad, Roeland Delrue from Aikido Security, and the founding team from Henchman: Jorn Vanysacker, Gilles Mattelin, and Wouter Van Respaille.
"Eagl is tackling one of the most frustrating bottlenecks in finance with technology that actually understands business context," said Matthias Geeroms, founder and CFO of Belgian unicorn Lighthouse. "That's why many people in the SaaS ecosystem believe Eagl will fundamentally change how finance teams operate."
The investor backing reflects confidence in Eagl's approach to solving persistent problems in financial operations through intelligent automation rather than simple task management.
