Eikon Therapeutics, a biotechnology company specializing in advanced molecular and cell biology for drug discovery, has secured $350.7 million in a Series D funding round. This latest financing brings the company's total private funding to over $1.1 billion since its founding in 2019.
The round was led by existing investors, with participation from new backers, including Lux Capital, Alexandria Venture Investments, AME Cloud Ventures, The Column Group, E15 VC, Foresite Capital, General Catalyst, Soros Capital, StepStone Group, and funds advised by T. Rowe Price Associates and UC Investments.
Eikon is known for integrating automation, high-performance computing, and advanced data science to expedite the drug development process. Its proprietary single-molecule tracking technology allows researchers to visualize biological processes in living cells with unmatched precision.
“Eikon has made remarkable progress in advancing a pivotal-stage clinical pipeline and early-stage development program powered by our single-molecule tracking technology and the deep expertise of our multidisciplinary team,” said Roger M. Perlmutter, M.D., Ph.D., CEO and Board Chair of Eikon Therapeutics.
The newly raised capital will support ongoing clinical trials and early-stage drug development. Eikon’s lead candidate, EIK1001, a Toll-like receptor 7 and 8 co-agonist, is in Phase III trials for advanced melanoma. Early results show both single-agent efficacy and promising combination activity with anti-PD-(L)1 agents.
Additionally, the company is advancing EIK1003, a PARP1 inhibitor in Phase I trials targeting breast, ovarian, prostate, and pancreatic cancers, along with EIK1004, a central nervous system-penetrant PARP1 inhibitor focused on brain cancers.
Eikon’s early-stage research pipeline includes two androgen receptor antagonists and an internally derived WRN inhibitor (EIK1005), aimed at treating MSI-high and other DNA repair–deficient cancers.
Eikon’s distinctive approach to drug discovery is rooted in Nobel Prize-winning super-resolution microscopy and cutting-edge engineering. The company combines live-cell imaging with AI-driven data analysis, allowing scientists to capture molecular interactions in real time.
Lux Capital Co-founder and Managing Partner Josh Wolfe emphasized Eikon’s approach: “By harnessing its proprietary single molecule tracking technology, Eikon is uncovering biological processes in living cells with an unprecedented level of precision, generating insights at a pace that was previously out of reach.”
Eikon’s continued success has attracted top mutual funds, sovereign wealth funds, and healthcare-focused venture firms. With strong investor confidence and fresh capital, the company is positioned to expand clinical trials, accelerate R&D, and bring transformative therapies to market.
Eikon Therapeutics will be participating in the TD Cowen Healthcare Conference in Boston from March 3-5, 2025.
