EliseAI, a trailblazer in AI-driven property management tools, has raised $75 million in a Series D funding round, catapulting its valuation to $1 billion. Founded by Minna Song and Tony Stoyanov, EliseAI emerged from their university days at Cambridge, evolving from a simple idea into a leading player in the property management tech space.
Song, who began her journey in New York City's real estate sector, identified key inefficiencies in rental management—especially in tenant communications. This insight led to the creation of EliseAI in 2017, aimed at automating and streamlining interactions between landlords and renters. The company’s suite of chatbots handles everything from scheduling apartment tours to processing maintenance requests, all designed to ease the workload of property managers and reduce the risk of burnout.
The recently raised funds will fuel EliseAI's growth and innovation, with plans to extend its technology into the healthcare sector. This move follows the 2023 launch of HealthAI, a solution designed to enhance clinic operations through AI. The company has already begun to make inroads in this new vertical, reflecting its broader ambitions.
EliseAI's chatbots are engineered to handle tenant queries efficiently, improving lease tour bookings by 125% and reducing overdue payments by 50%. Despite some critiques about the chatbots’ ability to manage nuanced conversations, Song is confident in their continuous improvement and the technology’s overall impact.
The Series D funding, led by Sapphire Ventures with contributions from Point72 Private Investments, Divco West, Navitas Capital, and Koch Real Estate Investments, brings EliseAI’s total capital raised to $140 million. This new investment will support hiring, AI research and development, and product advancement, positioning EliseAI for further expansion in both the real estate and healthcare markets.
As EliseAI continues to innovate and grow, its ability to address persistent challenges in property management and explore new applications in healthcare will be pivotal in defining its future success.
