Estonian startup Esgrid has secured a fresh round of pre-seed funding, bringing its total to €900,000. The round was led by new investor 2C Ventures, with continued support from existing backers Startup Wise Guys, Greenco Ventures, and Lemonade Stand.
The new capital will support the company’s product expansion from ESG risk management into full-service supplier management tailored for small and medium-sized businesses. Esgrid is now focused on building out more supplier workflows and automating them using artificial intelligence.
Esgrid originally launched in 2023 with a focus on automating ESG risk management for supply chains. Its SaaS platform helps companies reduce costs by up to 90% by streamlining data collection, analytics, reporting, and supplier engagement.
The company has already attracted dozens of European customers, including several publicly listed firms. Esgrid also earned recognition last year by winning the sTARTUp Day pitching contest and the Baltic Sustainability Award for best process.
Now, with demand growing for more integrated supplier solutions, Esgrid is evolving to cover the entire supplier lifecycle.
The first step in this new direction is the launch of an AI-powered supplier evaluation template generator. Built into Esgrid’s platform, the tool enables users to create tailored supplier evaluation templates within 30 seconds through its AI assistant, Grid.
CEO and co-founder Oksana Tolmatshova shared: "Working with our first customers, we quickly proved that we can cut costs by replacing manual supplier processes with digital workflows... That’s why we’re expanding into wider supplier management. Our AI-first product adapts to each company’s size and needs, delivering the right solution at the right cost."
The new features aim to address challenges in onboarding, document handling, and supplier communications—all areas where medium-sized businesses often rely on fragmented or manual systems.
The funding round was led by 2C Ventures, marking their first investment in Esgrid. Commenting on the decision to invest, Hendrik Reimand, Founding Partner at 2C Ventures, said: "In an era of growing geopolitical uncertainty, supply chain resilience has never been more critical... We are excited to support this strong team as they take the next step in their journey."
The round also saw renewed participation from Startup Wise Guys, Greenco Ventures, and Lemonade Stand—all early backers of Esgrid during its initial growth phase.
Esgrid was founded in 2023 by Oksana Tolmatshova and her team with the goal of tackling inefficiencies in supply chain management. The Tallinn-based startup started by addressing ESG compliance but quickly identified broader needs across supplier management.
With a growing customer base and a focus on usability and automation, Esgrid is positioning itself as a go-to platform for small and medium-sized businesses managing complex supplier networks.
