evroc has secured €50 million in Series A funding, marking the largest tech Series A round in the Nordics. The investment, led by international firm blisce/, was supported by UK-based Giant Ventures and returning investors EQT Ventures and Norrsken VC. This funding round strengthens evroc’s mission to build sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure in Europe, reducing reliance on foreign technology providers.
evroc's ambitious expansion comes amid growing concerns over European technological independence. Newly appointed board member Alexandre Mars, Founder & CEO of blisce/, emphasized: “For too long, the European cloud and AI landscape has been dominated by foreign players. It is time for a European champion to rise and challenge the status quo.”
Cloud adoption in Europe remains far behind the United States, with a penetration rate of just 41% compared to 78% across the Atlantic. This gap hampers productivity and innovation, particularly in AI, which increasingly relies on cloud infrastructure. Cameron McLain, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Giant Ventures, noted: “evroc provides European businesses with world-class cloud and AI services, delivering the performance and security required by Europe’s forward-thinking companies.”
With global geopolitical tensions reshaping the digital economy, Europe is pushing for stronger technological autonomy. evroc's expansion signals a shift toward homegrown, sovereign cloud solutions that align with regional regulations and security concerns.
With this fresh capital, evroc is setting bold milestones, including:
Mattias Åström, Founder & CEO of evroc, highlighted: “2025 will be a formative year for evroc. With the recent announcements of our AI factory in France and our plans for an AI data center in Stockholm, this financing round has been instrumental in laying the foundation for our next phase of growth.”
Founded to strengthen European digital sovereignty, evroc is building a network of 10 hyperscale data centers by 2030, with plans to create over 10,000 jobs. Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with development offices in Sophia Antipolis, France, and London, UK, the company is positioning itself as a key player in secure, sustainable, and sovereign cloud solutions.
evroc’s investor base includes EQT Ventures and Norrsken VC, who have backed the company from its early stages. This latest round sees the addition of blisce/ and Giant Ventures, reinforcing investor confidence in evroc’s long-term vision. With funding secured, the company is now focused on scaling its infrastructure and supporting Europe’s AI ecosystem.
