Exaforce, a San Jose-based startup founded in 2023 by Ankur Singla and a team of former tech leaders from Google, Palo Alto Networks, and F5, has officially emerged from stealth with a bold mission: to overhaul security operations centers (SOCs) using a new kind of artificial intelligence. Backed by $75 million in Series A funding, the company has created what it calls the industry's first multi-model AI platform tailored for cybersecurity and operational resilience.
The funding round was led by Khosla Ventures, Mayfield, and Thomvest Ventures, with additional backing from Touring Capital. The fresh capital will be used to scale research and development, onboard new enterprise partners, and refine their AI-powered platform.
Security teams today face massive pressure: a never-ending stream of alerts, a lack of native threat detection in cloud environments, and a shortage of skilled professionals. SOC analysts are overwhelmed by false positives, complex manual tasks, and fragmented tools. Meanwhile, detection engineers and threat hunters struggle with slow workflows and poor visibility.
Exaforce believes the answer lies not in hiring more staff, but in rethinking the problem from the ground up. Their platform—called the Agentic SOC—relies on AI agents called "Exabots" designed to collaborate with human analysts, rather than replace them. The company reports a tenfold increase in productivity for design partners who have tested the system, alongside more accurate threat detection and shorter incident response times.
Unlike many AI-based solutions that depend solely on large language models (LLMs), Exaforce’s platform uses a layered AI approach. It blends semantic models, behavioral models, and knowledge models (LLMs) to create a complete understanding of threats and system behaviors.
This approach overcomes the limitations of using LLMs alone—such as hallucinations, shallow analysis, and lack of reasoning consistency—while delivering better coverage and auditability at lower cost.
The founding team’s track record in cybersecurity and AI is critical to Exaforce’s credibility. Members helped design threat detection systems at F5 for major global banks, built AI frameworks at Google, and scaled security infrastructure at Palo Alto Networks. Their diverse experiences give them a nuanced understanding of SOC pain points and how AI can provide real value without creating new risks.
In stealth, Exaforce partnered with over 10 enterprise design partners across industries like energy, tech, and manufacturing to test and refine its system. Feedback from these partners suggests dramatic improvements: faster triage, fewer false positives, and improved team productivity. One partner even reported up to 60x acceleration in day-to-day tasks using Exabots.
With the $75 million in funding, Exaforce plans to grow its R&D teams, expand its pilot programs, and continue enhancing Exabots to perform even more complex tasks. Their goal is not just automation, but creating a collaborative AI system that allows humans to stay in control while offloading tedious work.
Exaforce isn’t promising a magic fix—but it is offering a more thoughtful, grounded solution. As cyber threats grow in volume and sophistication, the need for intelligent, adaptive SOC platforms is greater than ever. With its multi-model architecture and clear vision, Exaforce positions itself as a company that’s not just catching up to the problem—but trying to leap ahead of it.
