Generation Lab has closed an $11 million seed funding round to accelerate the global expansion of its SystemAge™ biological aging diagnostic platform. The round, led by Accel, brings the company's total funding to $15 million and places it in the top 1% of all startup seed raises.

Joining Accel in the round are Samsung Next, Zone2, EDM producer Steve Aoki's Aoki Labs, NBA champion Giannis Antetokounmpo's Build Your Legacy Ventures, and actor Simu Liu's Markham Valley Ventures. The diverse investor group reflects growing mainstream interest in longevity science and preventive health diagnostics.

Why Longevity Diagnostics Matter Now

The longevity industry is experiencing a shift from reactive to proactive healthcare, driven largely by consumer demand. Traditional medical approaches typically address symptoms after they appear. In contrast, biological age testing aims to detect aging-related changes before disease develops, opening the door to preventive interventions.

SystemAge™ measures biological age by analyzing 19 distinct physiological systems—including cardiovascular, reproductive, immune, fibrotic, metabolic, and regenerative functions. The platform uses blood test results to quantify how each organ system is aging relative to chronological age. According to the company, 70% of tested individuals are biologically older than their actual age.

"We're witnessing a fundamental shift from reactive to proactive healthcare—led by consumers," said Alina Su, CEO and Co-founder of Generation Lab. "Our explosive growth, from zero to 275+ clinic partners in under a year, demonstrates that both clinicians and consumers are hungry for actionable aging insights. This funding allows us to accelerate our mission of making longevity diagnostics the standard of care globally. We're not just measuring aging; we're creating the roadmap to reverse it."

Plans for the New Capital

The funding will support Generation Lab's rapid expansion into new healthcare markets. The company plans to onboard additional clinic partners worldwide and build out its technology infrastructure to handle growing data volumes. In less than ten months since launch, Generation Lab has already accumulated over 300 million human-aging data points.

The company also intends to invest in product development and clinical validation studies. Real-world data shows that SystemAge™ can track the effectiveness of various interventions. Clinical studies involving MUSE Stemcell treatment documented 13.6 years of brain age reversal and 4.9 years of reproductive system age reversal. Other research indicates that anti-inflammatory diets, targeted fasting protocols, and optimized exercise regimens can measurably slow or reverse organ aging by multiple years within six months.

The Science Behind SystemAge™

Generation Lab was founded by Dr. Irina Conboy, a respected aging researcher at UC Berkeley, along with CEO Alina Su and co-founder Michael. The company's core innovation centers on what it calls "biological noise"—a systems-based approach to measuring aging.

Unlike traditional biological clocks that correlate DNA methylation patterns with chronological age through statistical modeling, SystemAge™ claims to quantify aging based on the discovery of a physiologic non-linear curve in DNA methylation. The platform analyzes intact primary blood data across multiple organ systems simultaneously, rather than transforming data through what the company describes as biologically arbitrary methods.

"What sets SystemAge™ apart is our systems-based approach to aging measurement using what we're calling 'biological noise,'" explained Dr. Irina Conboy. "While other platforms offer disease biomarkers, we've developed the first preventive health test detecting signals before symptoms appear. This is the most comprehensive aging diagnostic, analyzing how multiple organ systems age in concert. Our proprietary algorithms, trained on hundreds of millions of data points, don't just tell you how old you are—they reveal which specific systems are aging fastest and provide precise interventions to reverse the process."

The platform has achieved 99.9% diagnostic accuracy and provides mechanistic insights that enable personalized intervention strategies. In some cases, SystemAge™ has identified biological dysregulation that was later confirmed through clinical tests—tests that wouldn't have been prescribed to pre-symptomatic individuals under standard care protocols.

Rapid Market Adoption

SystemAge™ has gained traction across diverse healthcare settings in its first year. The platform is now used by over 275 clinic partners worldwide, ranging from leading academic medical centers to boutique wellness practices. Early adopters include renowned longevity physicians, professional athletes, and celebrities.

The platform has attracted endorsements from prominent figures in aging research, including Harvard Medical School professors David Sinclair and George Church, Dr. Adeel Khan, author Dr. Michael Roizen, and researcher Aubrey de Grey. This validation from the scientific community has helped establish credibility in a field often criticized for overpromising results.

Generation Lab's commercial progress stands out in the longevity space, where many companies struggle to move from research to real-world application. The company's ability to sign hundreds of clinic partners within months suggests strong demand for actionable aging diagnostics.

Investor Perspective on the Longevity Market

"Generation Lab is shaping the future of the longevity industry," said Kerry Wang, Partner at Accel. "Alina, Michael, and Irina are building with conviction and credibility in a space that demands both. Their SystemAge™ platform combines solid science with strong commercial progress, creating a new category in data-driven healthcare. This is only the beginning."

The involvement of celebrity investors like Steve Aoki, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Simu Liu reflects growing mainstream awareness of longevity science. These investors bring not just capital but also platforms to reach wider audiences interested in health optimization and preventive care.

Generation Lab is based in San Francisco and serves clinic partners across multiple countries. The company's mission focuses on making comprehensive aging diagnostics accessible globally, with the stated goal of creating an "Ageless Generation" through actionable health insights.
