AI-driven compliance platform Hawk has secured a $56 million Series C round to support product innovation and global expansion. The round was led by growth equity firm One Peak, with continued participation from previous backers including Macquarie Capital, Rabobank, BlackFin Capital Partners, Sands Capital, DN Capital, Picus, and Coalition.
Hawk’s technology is already trusted by over 80 institutions worldwide, including Tier 1 banks, fintechs, and mid-sized financial firms. With new funding, Hawk is now sharpening its focus on expanding into the US, while continuing to grow its product capabilities.
As financial crime becomes more sophisticated, traditional compliance tools struggle to keep up. Rules-based systems often trigger large volumes of false alerts, overwhelming compliance teams and allowing bad actors to exploit loopholes. Hawk’s AI-powered platform aims to solve both issues—reducing false positives while improving detection of complex, novel threats.
“Every financial institution that wants to reduce compliance workloads and increase the accuracy of risk detection should be using AI to achieve those goals,” said Tobias Schweiger, CEO of Hawk.
He added: “The results are compelling—we’ve been able to increase alert accuracy to almost 90% in some cases, while significantly cutting false positives. We’re also uncovering twice as many previously undetected cases of ‘novel’ criminal activity.”
Hawk plans to use the new capital to scale its go-to-market operations, invest in R&D, and grow its presence in North America. The company sees significant demand from US-based institutions, where compliance pressures and fraud risks continue to intensify.
Product development will also be a key focus. Hawk aims to deepen the use of generative AI across its platform to enhance decision-making, reduce manual reviews, and equip compliance teams with more intelligent tools.
Founded with a mission to make financial systems safer through AI, Hawk has built a reputation for solving long-standing issues in AML and fraud detection. The company’s platform replaces legacy tools that rely on static rules and provides a more adaptive, accurate approach to risk management.
“AI is in our DNA at Hawk,” said Schweiger. “Our mission is to provide financial institutions with the technology, the expertise and the support that they need to realize the transformative impact that machine learning and generative AI can have across their anti-financial crime operations.”
One Peak, which led the Series C round, praised Hawk’s ability to bring real, measurable results to compliance teams. “Hawk’s technology enables banks to take a much more efficient approach to fighting financial crime,” said David Klein, Co-founder and Managing Partner at One Peak. “We’re very excited to be backing Hawk’s world-class team in their next leg of explosive growth.”
Hawk’s investor base includes a mix of financial institutions and tech-focused firms: Macquarie Capital, Rabobank, BlackFin Capital Partners, Sands Capital, DN Capital, Picus Capital, and Coalition.
