HotelRunner Expands Horizons with PayPad Acquisition in Strategic Move

Türkiye's very own point-of-sale virtuoso, PayPad, has found a new home in the welcoming arms of HotelRunner

In a strategic and forward-thinking move, HotelRunner, a leading technology provider in the hospitality and travel industry, has announced its acquisition of PayPad, a prominent point-of-sale (POS) provider based in Türkiye. While the specific financial details of this acquisition remain undisclosed, the impact is substantial. PayPad's robust POS product has undergone a transformation, emerging as HotelRunner POS, and it continues to thrive as a valuable asset in the dynamic world of hospitality.

Founded in 2016 by Veysel Berk, PayPad has carved a niche for itself as a sales system catering to both the retail and hospitality sectors. With a customer base spanning the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, and its home turf in Türkiye, PayPad brings a global perspective to its offerings.

In contrast, HotelRunner specializes in tailoring its technology to the unique needs of the travel and hospitality sector. Operating as a comprehensive sales, operations, and distribution management platform, along with functioning as a B2B network connecting accommodations, travel agencies, and payment providers, HotelRunner has established itself as a key player in the industry.

The acquisition of PayPad is a strategic move aimed at complementing HotelRunner's existing suite of services by adding the crucial onsite point-of-sale component to its offering.

Veysel Berk, the visionary founder of PayPad, emphasizes the alignment of values, culture, and product principles shared by both teams. He envisions PayPad, now reborn as HotelRunner POS, as a transformative force in the global hospitality landscape, ushering in a new era of advanced sales solutions.

"This collaboration is not just about enhancing our product range; it signifies a bold step towards realizing our vision of cultivating a thriving travel economy. By welcoming HotelRunner POS into our expansive ecosystem as a foundational component, we are reinforcing our presence in the payments and sales sectors within travel and hospitality. We take pride in paving the way for industry consolidation and ushering in a transformative era while strengthening the legacy of our brand," shares Arden Agopyan, founder and Managing Partner of HotelRunner.

This marks HotelRunner's third strategic acquisition, following its previous purchases of Istanbul-based Ratefor and HDN Global. The company's ambitious endeavors have been further fortified by a successful $6.5 million Series A funding round earlier this year.
