Katana has secured a €14 million extension to its Series B funding round, led by Cogito Capital Partners. The round also includes participation from the Fenton/Greer Family Trust, owned by Benchmark General Partner Peter Fenton and Kate Greer, alongside existing investors Northzone, Atomico, 42Cap, and Lightrock.
The Tallinn-based company has tripled its revenue since closing its initial Series B in 2022. With this latest capital injection, Katana has now raised more than €60 million in total funding.
Katana operates in the inventory management space, providing cloud-native software designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses that sell physical products. The platform gives these companies real-time visibility into inventory levels, production workflows, and order management across multiple sales channels.
More than 1,500 SMBs across 70 countries currently use the platform. The company processes over $3 billion in gross merchandise value annually, serving businesses across 75 different industries.
The new funding will support Katana's continued international growth and product development efforts. The company plans to expand its AI-driven technology infrastructure and grow its integrations marketplace, which connects to ecommerce, accounting, and shipping platforms.
Katana is positioning itself to capture more market share in the ERP space for product-based SMBs. The company's focus remains on making inventory and order management simpler for businesses that have historically struggled with complex, enterprise-grade software solutions.
Founded in Tallinn, Estonia, Katana was built to address a specific pain point: helping entrepreneurs who sell physical products manage their operations without drowning in spreadsheets or expensive enterprise systems. The platform offers native integrations that give business owners a unified view of their operations in real time.
Kristjan Vilosius, Founder and co-CEO of Katana, explained the significance of the round: "We're thrilled to have Cogito lead this round. They've shown conviction in our vision from the very first conversations, bringing not just capital but a deep understanding of the ERP space. Their support is invaluable as we navigate this next chapter. And with Kate Greer and Peter Fenton joining as investors, we gain the guidance of one of the most respected venture partners in the world. Together, this combination gives Katana both the steady hand and the rocket fuel to accelerate our mission of redefining the ERP stack for product-based SMBs worldwide."
The company's growth trajectory reflects broader demand for modern, accessible business software. Traditional ERP systems have often been too expensive or complicated for smaller businesses, creating an opening for nimbler, cloud-based alternatives.
Cogito Capital Partners, which led the round, invests in later-stage B2B technology companies, particularly those with Central European roots and global ambitions. The Warsaw and New York-based firm focuses on enterprise software, fintech, and physical AI businesses. Previous investments include Applica, which was acquired by Snowflake.
Sylwester Janik, Partner at Cogito Capital Partners, said: "Katana has all the hallmarks of a category leader: a product that customers love, a world-class team, and a clear vision for how to redefine ERP for product-based SMBs in the age of AI. We are proud to lead this round and to support Kristjan and the team as they continue to scale globally. With Peter Fenton joining as an investor, Katana gains not only additional capital but also one of the strongest strategic voices in venture capital. We believe this combination puts Katana on a trajectory to become the standard for SMB inventory and order management worldwide."
Peter Fenton's involvement adds significant weight to the round. As a General Partner at Benchmark, Fenton has backed some of Silicon Valley's most successful companies, including Twitter, Yelp, New Relic, Elastic, Docker, and Airtable. He has appeared on the Forbes Midas List multiple times for his investment track record.
The combination of Cogito's operational expertise in European tech and Fenton's strategic guidance positions Katana to accelerate its growth while navigating the challenges of scaling a global software business.
