Lithuania-based cardiac diagnostics startup Ligence has raised €3 million in a seed funding round led by Simpact Ventures, with additional investments from Coinvest Capital, the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, Estonian venture capital firm Lemonade Stand, and business angels syndicate NGL, alongside angel investor Rita Sakus. This funding will advance Ligence’s mission to revolutionize cardiac diagnostics through AI-powered echocardiography software, enhancing both speed and accuracy in heart disease detection.
The seed round was led by Simpact Ventures, a Polish venture capital fund that prioritizes social impact investments. Simpact Ventures focuses on companies that drive measurable benefits for society or the environment. Coinvest Capital, a prominent player in the European tech investment scene, and the EIC Fund, which supports groundbreaking innovations across Europe, also contributed to the round. This diverse group of investors shares Ligence’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and outcomes.
Founded with a focus on addressing global healthcare needs, Ligence is developing AI-enhanced software for cardiac echocardiography, an essential diagnostic tool for heart disease. The software automates image analysis, assisting cardiologists in making faster and more precise clinical decisions. This innovation aims to reduce manual workload for medical professionals, allowing them to dedicate more time to patient care while enhancing diagnostic accuracy.
This new capital injection will enable Ligence to expand its AI-based echocardiography software across European and global markets, with ongoing clinical trials in the U.S., Germany, and several other countries. Ligence’s mission is to make cardiac ultrasound diagnostics more accessible and effective, empowering healthcare providers with tools to improve patient outcomes and streamline healthcare delivery. By reducing reliance on time-consuming manual analysis, Ligence is paving the way for faster, more reliable cardiac diagnostics in a world facing rising healthcare demands.
Ligence’s technology is already in use across multiple European countries, including Poland, Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. It is also being tested in Morocco, with additional clinical trials underway in the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and Lithuania. This extensive adoption reflects the strong demand for innovative diagnostic solutions that enhance healthcare efficiency and improve patient care.
