Lumafield has announced a $75 million Series C financing, led by IVP, with additional participation from G2 Venture Partners, Wellington Management, Spark Capital, DCVC, Kleiner Perkins, Lux Capital, and Matter Venture Partners.
The funding marks a major milestone in Lumafield’s trajectory. By providing both hardware and software as a service, the company has steadily attracted manufacturers looking for precision inspection tools that minimize risk. Lumafield’s scanners, paired with AI-driven analysis software, are positioned to help businesses catch design or production flaws before they evolve into recalls or large-scale failures.
Across the United States and beyond, manufacturers are grappling with renewed priorities around national security, supply chain resilience, and consumer demand for higher-quality products. Lumafield’s offerings address these pressures by helping engineers “see inside their work in unprecedented detail,” enabling next-level quality control.
“We’re thrilled to have IVP and our partners join us in transforming U.S. manufacturing,” said Eduardo Torrealba, Lumafield’s Co-Founder and CEO. “Now more than ever, this country needs to invest in cutting-edge technology that keeps American industry competitive, builds unstoppable supply chains, and drives global innovation.”
Lumafield plans to use its new funds to refine factory-ready scanning platforms and continue advancing its AI-powered software. By integrating X-ray CT directly into production lines, manufacturers can identify flaws in real time, preventing issues from accumulating and ensuring faster time to market. The company’s Triton platform, for example, captures CT scans in as little as 0.1 seconds, making high-volume quality control more efficient.
The investment will also help Lumafield expand its reach into emerging markets, such as battery manufacturing for electric vehicles and grid-scale energy storage. The company’s Battery Analysis Module, coupled with ultra-fast scanning, promises critical new insights for industries that rely on precision engineering and reliable components.
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Lumafield has additional offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The company’s mission is to make industrial CT scanning more accessible, placing cutting-edge inspection technology in the hands of engineers at businesses both large and small. Its product line includes Neptune (an industrial X-ray CT scanner for developers and quality labs), Voyager (cloud-based analysis software), and Triton (a factory-ready inspection platform).
“We won’t rest until we’ve made CT inspection an essential tool in every product team’s toolbox,” Torrealba noted, emphasizing the importance of delivering a simpler, faster, and more cost-effective approach to manufacturing inspections. In tandem with the Series C round, Lumafield has also welcomed Bill Cronin as Head of Revenue. Cronin previously led revenue growth at Xometry, guiding that company from $2 million to over $450 million in annual sales and overseeing its successful IPO.
In the past two years, Lumafield has tripled its annual recurring revenue (ARR) each year—an indicator of market receptiveness to industrial CT scanning that is both affordable and practical. “Lumafield is at the forefront of a technological revolution in manufacturing during a period of profound supply chain disruption,” remarked Shravan Narayen, Partner at IVP. “By democratizing access to industrial CT, Lumafield gives companies the precision and speed to catch issues before they become expensive problems.”
“I’ve seen firsthand how transformative technologies can redefine entire industries—creating new workflows, improving quality, and unlocking previously unimagined digitization opportunities,” added Cronin. “Lumafield is at the forefront of this transformation, bringing a game-changing approach to industrial inspection. I’m excited to help scale Lumafield’s impact and put this groundbreaking technology into the hands of manufacturers looking to rethink quality control and build the next generation of world-changing products.”
