AI-powered video intelligence startup Lumana has secured $40 million in Series A funding to accelerate product development and go-to-market growth.
The round was led by Wing Venture Capital, with participation from Norwest and S Capital, bringing Lumana’s total funding to $64 million. The capital will help expand the company’s AI-driven video platform, which uses vision language models (VLMs) and agentic AI to transform passive security cameras into intelligent monitoring systems capable of real-time response and insight generation.
“This investment is a milestone in our mission,” said Sagi Ben Moshe, Lumana’s founder and CEO. “It enables us to accelerate growth to meet demand and provide our wide array of customers with physical world AI capabilities that are unmatched in the market today.”
The video security landscape is shifting as organizations seek more value from their surveillance infrastructure. Rather than relying on static feeds and manual monitoring, companies are turning to AI systems that analyze and interpret footage in real time.
The global market for AI in video surveillance is projected to grow to $14.6 billion in the next four years. Broader use of video analytics is forecasted to surpass $69 billion by 2028, driven by demand across sectors like retail, healthcare, manufacturing and public safety.
“Lumana is at the forefront of the AI video movement, enabling cameras to truly perceive the physical environment and deliver actionable insights in real-time,” said Peter Wagner, founding partner at Wing Venture Capital, who also joins Lumana’s board.
Lumana plans to use the funding to continue advancing its video intelligence platform and expand commercial efforts. The platform processes over a billion images per day, supporting rapid investigations, behavior-based event detection, and operational insights across large, complex environments.

New funding will also support further R&D and help Lumana scale deployments across new markets and customer segments.
Founded in 2021 and emerging from stealth mode in April 2024, Lumana has rapidly attracted a diverse customer base, from fast food and education to sports and city infrastructure. Clients include McDonald’s, Meta, Minnesota Twins, New York University, and Tuff Shed.
Lumana’s edge lies in combining software, AI, and hardware into a single, scalable platform that integrates seamlessly with thousands of existing cameras. Headquartered in Los Gatos, California, and with offices in Tel Aviv, the company is led by Sagi Ben Moshe, a veteran in AI-driven technologies.
"Lumana has given us a powerful, end-to-end solution that makes it incredibly easy to keep our campus community safe," said Matthew Bunning, safety and security specialist at Gateway Community & Technical College in Kentucky.
Wing Venture Capital leads this latest round, with existing investors Norwest and S Capital returning. These firms bring deep experience in enterprise software and AI infrastructure.
“The company's powerful platform converts ordinary video security infrastructure into a proactive, continually learning solution that enables users to scale security, safety and operational decision-making with a level of intelligence we've never seen in the industry before,” said Wagner.
With its growing customer list and strategic backing, Lumana is positioning itself as a key player in the future of intelligent video systems.
