Lumonus has closed a A$25 million Series B financing round to scale its AI-powered radiation oncology workflow platform globally. Aviron Investment Management led the investment, with continued backing from Oncology Ventures, the New York-based venture capital firm focused on cancer care innovation.
The funding arrives as Lumonus gains traction among major health systems in the United States, Australia, and Europe. The platform has already supported clinicians in consulting and prescribing over 280,000 cancer treatments. It has also automated the creation of more than 75,000 treatment plans, helping oncology teams deliver more consistent and efficient care.
Cancer treatment science has advanced dramatically in recent years. But the systems supporting care delivery haven't kept up. That gap creates bottlenecks for oncology teams managing increasingly complex workflows.
"Oncology is at an inflection point," said Keith Hansen, Chief Executive Officer of Lumonus. "Scientific innovation in cancer treatment has advanced significantly, but the systems that support teams delivering the care have not kept pace. By combining AI-native architecture, a comprehensive end-to-end workflow approach, and a commitment to partnering with care teams to solve real-world pain points, we are reimagining oncology workflows. This investment allows us to expand our world-class team and support more health systems that are ready to embrace a better way."
Lumonus addresses these challenges with an AI-native platform built for the full oncology workflow. The company works directly with cancer centers to identify real-world problems and build tools that fit into existing clinical operations.
The Series B capital will fund several priorities. Lumonus plans to expand its go-to-market and clinical success teams in the United States, where demand for the platform is growing. The company will also advance its core products: Lumonus AI Physician and Lumonus AI Dosimetry.
Beyond product development, the funding will support clinical informatics capabilities. Lumonus intends to work more closely with health systems to collect real-world evidence, measure quality outcomes, and help providers deliver more personalized care. These efforts aim to improve both clinical results and operational performance across cancer centers.
Lumonus was founded by a leadership team with more than 100 years of combined experience from cancer centers across the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. That clinical grounding shapes the company's approach to product design and deployment.
"This milestone reflects the dedication of our entire team, who have worked side by side with clinicians worldwide to demonstrate real impact in oncology today and to show what the future of cancer care can be," said Merrick Howes, Chairman of Lumonus. "Our unique AI-native platform has already demonstrated its ability to improve clinical quality and operational efficiency. This new capital will allow us to accelerate both product innovation and expand our U.S. commercial footprint."
The platform's adoption by leading health systems validates the company's focus on solving practical problems. Lumonus has built trust with oncology teams by demonstrating measurable improvements in workflow efficiency and treatment consistency.
Aviron Investment Management has supported Lumonus since its inception. The private investment firm specializes in healthcare and technology companies using innovation to tackle complex challenges in life sciences, sports technology, and health and wellness. Aviron focuses on long-term value creation and provides both strategic capital and operational guidance to portfolio companies.
Oncology Ventures has also remained a committed investor. The firm invests exclusively in cancer care innovation, targeting early-stage companies developing data infrastructure, digital health solutions, and AI technologies for oncology.
Ben Freeberg, Managing Partner at Oncology Ventures, said, "The Lumonus team combines deep clinical expertise with world-class product execution and has already earned the trust of leading cancer centers internationally. We are proud to support Lumonus as they continue to deliver measurable impact and set the standard for the future of oncology workflows."
