Makersite has raised €60 million in a Series B funding round to scale its AI-powered product lifecycle intelligence platform. The round was co-led by Lightrock and Partech, with SE Ventures joining in. Existing backers Hitachi Ventures, KOMPAS VC, Translink Capital, and Planet A also returned for this round, reaffirming confidence in Makersite’s trajectory.
While the company hasn’t disclosed a valuation, the size and participation of repeat investors signal strong momentum. The funding comes amid growing demand from major manufacturers including Microsoft, Daikin, Cummins, Barco, and Schneider Electric, all of whom rely on Makersite to support their sustainability and compliance goals.
Manufacturing contributes to roughly 19% of global greenhouse gas emissions, making sustainable product design an urgent business priority. Makersite is responding with software that helps manufacturers balance cost, safety, and environmental impact.
"This investment marks a critical milestone in our mission to make sustainable product design the default," said Neil D’Souza, CEO and Founder of Makersite. "Securing this level of commitment—especially in today’s uncertain economic and geopolitical environment—demonstrates the strength of our business case and the urgency of our mission."
With this latest capital injection, Makersite plans to expand its technology stack and build out its global team. The company will focus on scaling its platform capabilities to meet rising demand for tools that help design greener, safer, and compliant products.
"The funding will allow us to accelerate platform development, deepen integration with our technology partners, and scale our impact globally," added D’Souza.
Beyond development, Makersite intends to strengthen its global partnerships and customer base, enabling faster decision-making and reporting across teams. The platform integrates with systems like Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, and design tools from Ansys and Autodesk, enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
At the core of Makersite’s platform is the ability to clean and connect fragmented product data using AI. The system merges customer data with proprietary datasets that map the cost, carbon footprint, compliance status, and risk profiles of materials and components.
This structured data feeds into real-time simulations and reporting dashboards, giving engineers and procurement teams instant insights into how design decisions affect sustainability, cost, and compliance. It also streamlines external reporting, supporting disclosures to regulators and customers.
The platform is already making a measurable difference. Microsoft used Makersite to cut the carbon footprint of its Surface Pro 10 by up to 28% in two years. Schneider Electric is leveraging the platform to bring eco-design to over 200,000 SKUs.
"Partnering with Makersite gives our teams and customers unparalleled insight into the environmental impact of products," said Peter Weckesser, Chief Digital Officer at Schneider Electric. "It accelerating our journey toward net-zero and setting new benchmarks for resilience and innovation."
Founded by Neil D’Souza, Makersite now employs over 150 "Makernauts" across its offices. The team blends expertise in software, data science, and engineering to support manufacturers navigating today’s complex regulatory and climate landscape.
What sets Makersite apart is its emphasis on automation and data completeness. The platform’s ability to process thousands of SKUs at speed—while maintaining accuracy—is gaining attention from some of the industry’s most demanding players.
New investor SE Ventures joins the board with strong endorsement. "Their domain knowledge, combined with a clear execution track record, stood out immediately," said Julien Cristiani, General Partner at SE Ventures. "Being able to process thousands of SKUs with such speed and precision is a game-changer for supply chain visibility and sustainable product development at scale."
Lightrock’s Chris Steinau added, "Makersite’s outstanding technology and clear market traction position them as a future leader in helping manufacturers navigate today’s complex challenges and deliver real, measurable impact."
Partech’s Arnaud Minvielle and Remi Said echoed this sentiment: "We have very strong convictions on Makersite’s product superiority, the depth of its market, and the exceptional talent of Neil and his team."
