Mondoo has closed a $17.5 million funding round to accelerate its agentic vulnerability management platform. The company, which describes itself as pioneering a new category of AI-driven security solutions, aims to fix vulnerabilities faster than attackers can exploit them.
HV Capital led the round, with participation from new strategic investor T.Capital alongside existing backers Atomico, Firstminute Capital, and System.One. This brings Mondoo's total funding to $32.5 million since inception.
The vulnerability landscape has become increasingly challenging for enterprise security teams. In 2024, the National Vulnerability Database recorded 40,003 new CVEs—a 39% jump from the previous year. Meanwhile, traditional security tools often overwhelm teams with alerts while providing little actionable guidance for fixes.
"Attackers move in hours, not weeks. Mondoo gives defenders the same speed, but with the context, transparency, and control organizations need," said Dominik Richter, CPO and Co-Founder of Mondoo. "Our structured security model is the foundation for everything: it provides the deep insights that make agentic prioritization, orchestration, and remediation effective."
The new capital will fund several strategic initiatives. Mondoo plans to accelerate development of its next-generation platform while expanding operations across US and European markets. The company also intends to strengthen partnerships and capture larger market share through strategic channel relationships.
This funding announcement caps a strong year for Mondoo. The company reported 7x revenue growth and 4.4x customer expansion, exceeding annual revenue targets by 62%. Notable customers include Deutsche Telekom AG, a major US automotive manufacturer, and a Fortune 10 technology company.
Founded by security industry veterans, Mondoo has developed what it calls the world's first agentic vulnerability management platform. The company's approach centers on three core capabilities: agentic prioritization, orchestration, and remediation.
Rather than simply flagging issues, Mondoo's AI agents continuously monitor infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and SaaS environments. The platform weighs factors like exploitability, business impact, and compliance requirements to focus teams on the most critical vulnerabilities. It then generates pre-tested remediation code through tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Intune.
Thomas Tschersich, CEO of Telekom Security and CSO of Deutsche Telekom AG, joined Mondoo's board as an advisor alongside the funding announcement. "The speed and accuracy of Mondoo's Agentic Vulnerability Platform in combination with its deep insights into the entire IT architecture enables customers to quickly remediate issues and significantly reduce CVEs and policy violations," said Tschersich.
The funding reflects growing investor interest in AI-powered security solutions that go beyond traditional alerting systems. HV Capital, which manages €2.8 billion across nine fund generations, sees significant potential in Mondoo's approach.
"Mondoo's Agentic Vulnerability Management marks a true shift in cybersecurity," said Barbod Namini, General Partner at HV Capital. "By automating manual work and preventing recurring vulnerabilities, the platform delivers measurable ROI and dramatically cuts mean time to remediate."
Sasha Vidiborskiy, Partner at Atomico, emphasized the platform's balance of automation and control. "By pairing autonomous remediation with built-in governance and transparency, Mondoo is proving that AI can deliver both speed and safety at scale," he noted.
