Nuro has secured a $203 million Series E funding round, pushing its valuation to $6 billion. The round includes a fresh $97 million from investors such as Uber, Icehouse Ventures, Kindred Ventures, NVIDIA, and Pledge Ventures. This follows the $106 million announced in April 2025, which featured returning backers like Baillie Gifford, as well as T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, Tiger Global, Greylock Partners, and XN.
The new round reinforces investor confidence in Nuro's AI-first approach to autonomous driving and its scalable strategy for real-world deployment. The company’s latest valuation and investor mix highlight its growing influence in the autonomy space.
With competition heating up in the autonomous vehicle sector, Nuro stands out with its focus on integrating its self-driving system—Nuro Driver™—into existing commercial fleets, ride-hailing networks, and even personal cars. Rather than build entire vehicles from scratch, the company offers a cost-effective path for partners to adopt autonomy.
"The closing of our Series E reinforces the strong conviction our investors and strategic partners have in Nuro’s technology, our scalable approach to commercialization, and our vision for the future of autonomy," said Dave Ferguson, Co-Founder and President of Nuro.
The announcement comes as major players ramp up efforts to bring AVs to public roads. Nuro’s latest partnerships and technological milestones show it’s pushing toward widespread, real-world integration faster than most.
With fresh capital in hand, Nuro plans to scale its AI-first autonomous technology, expand commercial relationships, and refine its Nuro Driver™ platform. A big focus will be deployment at scale—including work on a next-generation global robotaxi initiative.
A key part of that plan involves the recently announced partnership with Lucid and Uber. The companies aim to roll out 20,000+ Lucid vehicles fitted with Nuro Driver™ software across several global cities. Launch is expected to begin in a major U.S. market next year. Uber’s investment in Nuro is tied to specific development and commercial milestones, and part of that commitment is reflected in the current Series E round.
Founded in 2016 by Dave Ferguson and Jiajun Zhu, Nuro has grown into a key player in autonomous driving. The company has more than nine years of R&D and five years of real-world deployments under its belt across several U.S. states.
Unlike some AV companies that rely heavily on simulations, Nuro has already deployed driverless vehicles at scale in urban environments. It licenses the Nuro Driver™ to automakers and mobility providers looking for scalable autonomy solutions.
The company also plays a role in industry standards and safety validation. In June, Nuro joined NVIDIA’s Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab. Its latest compute module is built on the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor platform, and the company uses NVIDIA’s GPUs for model training and large-scale data processing.
Nuro has now raised more than $2.3 billion to date. Key investors across its rounds include Baillie Gifford, T. Rowe Price Associates, Fidelity Management, Tiger Global, Greylock, and XN.
The latest additions—Uber, NVIDIA, Icehouse Ventures, Kindred Ventures, and Pledge Ventures—strengthen the company’s strategic position in both technology and mobility sectors.
