GetVocal, a Paris-based startup building conversational AI agents for enterprise customer support, has raised $26 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Creandum, the Stockholm-based venture capital firm famous for backing European success stories like Spotify and Klarna at their earliest stages.
Existing investors Elaia and Speedinvest also joined the round, bringing GetVocal’s total funding to $30 million. The new capital will help the company develop its product, expand into new markets, and grow its team across Europe as it helps businesses build hybrid workforces of humans and AI.
Founded in 2023 by AI entrepreneurs Roy Moussa and Antonin Bertin—who previously co-founded the retail AI startup Qopius, acquired by Trax in 2020—GetVocal now employs 60 people across Europe. The company is already active in 23 markets, with a strong presence in France and Portugal and rapid growth in the UK and German-speaking regions.
Many large companies are still hesitant to use fully independent AI systems because they often work like "black boxes"—meaning companies can't see or understand how the AI makes decisions. GetVocal solves this by building transparent, controlled AI agents that give businesses full visibility. Their goal is to shift the industry from simply "humans assisted by AI" to "AI powered by humans."
GetVocal’s platform is different because of how it manages its AI models. The AI follows strict rules set by the business and only acts when it can perform perfectly. For important or complex decisions, humans stay involved. The platform acts as a "governing layer" that manages real-time teamwork between human agents and AI, monitoring every chat and flagging a human immediately if the AI needs help.
"Research by the MIT Media Lab shows that 95 percent of companies fail to get financial value from AI pilots because they lack the skills, processes, and governance to effectively integrate AI. Our customers are proudly in the five percent," said GetVocal CEO and Co-founder Roy Moussa. "We look forward to restoring confidence in AI agents and offering Europe's thriving enterprises a pragmatic solution to embed them in their customer experience operations."
This approach is timely, as the demand for smarter support tools explodes. According to Fortune Business Insights, the global conversational AI market was valued at over $12 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach nearly $62 billion by 2032, driven by a shift toward more autonomous, intelligent systems that can handle complex tasks.
GetVocal plans to use the new funding to speed up innovation and expand its sales presence across Europe. They will also ramp up international hiring. Built to handle European regulations, the platform is fully transparent, easy to audit, and compliant with the EU AI Act, allowing businesses to slowly and safely hand more responsibility to AI over time.
The company has already signed major European brands. Vodafone, Glovo, and Movistar use GetVocal to handle complex customer service chats, and Deutsche Telekom is currently running a pilot program. Glovo’s experience shows how fast the platform works: they grew their fleet from one to 80 AI agents in less than 12 weeks.
"Deploying GetVocal has transformed how we serve our community. From reactivating users to streamlining management, the results speak for themselves: a five-fold increase in uptime and a 35 percent increase in deflection, in just weeks," said Bruno Machado, Senior Operations Manager at Glovo.
GetVocal’s AI agents are delivering better results than standard solutions. The platform reduces the need for live human escalation by 31 percent and increases self-service resolutions by 45 percent compared to traditional systems. Within three months of launching, customers typically see the AI handle 70 percent of requests on its own. This allows businesses to double their efficiency while keeping customer satisfaction high.
The agents are fully auditable and meet Europe’s strictest data privacy rules. Companies can even host the software on their own servers, making it a great choice for enterprises that need to prove they are following the EU AI Act.
Old contact center software often traps companies in rigid workflows that don't fit daily needs. On the other hand, "black-box" AI systems can create accountability problems. GetVocal was designed to solve both.
"Black-box AI erodes accountability, and legacy contact-centre software locks organisations into rigid workflows unsuitable for day-to-day operations. GetVocal has built a winning platform that enables true automation while providing a level of control over agent behaviour that supports scaling without abandoning responsibility," explained Hanel Baveja, Partner at Creandum, who will join GetVocal's board.
GetVocal allows organizations to modernize their support without sacrificing quality or trust. The system watches conversations in real time, steps in instantly when needed, and safely shifts work from humans to AI as the technology learns.
