Holi, a Polish digital obesity clinic, has closed a EUR 3 million seed round led by 4growth VC, with participation from YZR Capital, Heartfelt Capital, and several business angels. The Warsaw-based startup plans to use the capital to enter new European markets and develop its data-driven care platform.

The funding will support Holi's expansion into Southern and Eastern Europe, regions where private healthcare and telemedicine adoption are growing quickly. The company will also invest in technology development, including diagnostics integration, GLP-1 tracking, and automation of care processes.

Addressing a Global Health Crisis

More than 800 million people worldwide currently live with obesity, according to the World Health Organization. That number is expected to nearly double by 2035. Obesity now ranks as one of the largest public health challenges globally, contributing to over 200 medical conditions and placing increasing strain on healthcare systems.

Nearly two billion people are overweight. The EU obesity treatment market alone is estimated at EUR 40 to 50 billion, with private healthcare spending rising rapidly as GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro gain wider adoption among patients.

How Holi's Platform Works

Holi combines medical expertise with technology to offer multidisciplinary care for patients living with obesity. The platform provides access to doctors, psychodietitians, psychologists, and physiotherapists, as well as GLP-1-based pharmacotherapy. Patients use a mobile app and online platform to receive personalized treatment plans and coordinated care.

"Obesity treatment requires continuity and the integration of multiple medical competencies," says Paweł Seweryn, Founder & CEO of Holi. "Our goal is to deliver a comprehensive solution that leads to real, long-term change in metabolic health. The funding will enable us to scale our model internationally – starting with the Southern and Eastern Europe markets, which are highly receptive to private healthcare and telemedicine – while further developing our technology stack."

The company's model delivers stronger clinical outcomes compared to standalone GLP-1 treatment. Patients using the platform achieve an average 17% reduction in body weight after 12 months—approximately 1.5 times more than pharmacotherapy alone.

Better Results, Lower Costs

By combining data-driven dose optimization with behavioral coaching, Holi helps patients cut their medication costs by up to 50%. This makes long-term treatment more accessible and sustainable for people who need it most.

The funds raised will be allocated to scaling Holi's medical infrastructure and improving its technology capabilities. New features will focus on sustaining patient motivation over time, a factor often missing in traditional obesity treatment approaches.

"The next generation of obesity treatment will be hybrid - data and AI for precision, experts for impact. Our platform continuously analyses patient data to adjust therapy in real time, while doctors and specialists step in exactly when human intervention matters most. That's how we deliver better outcomes with smarter use of medication," explains Jan Kundziołka, Co-Founder of Holi, responsible for product and technology.

A Scalable Model for Underserved Needs

Holi was founded by a team with combined medical, technological, and business expertise. The platform has already supported several thousand patients and operates on a subscription-based model. The company focuses on improving metabolic health by treating the root causes of obesity, not just the symptoms.

"Obesity remains one of the most underserved health needs globally. Holi has built a truly efficient care model – virtual, scalable and designed with a genuine value-for-money mindset. It delivers clinically proven outcomes at a price point that makes sense for both patients and the business. This combination of medical impact and smart product design is exactly what convinced us to invest," says Krzysztof Bachta, Managing Partner at 4growth VC.

Strong Backing from Experienced Investors

The seed round was led by 4growth VC, a Polish venture capital firm focused on technology-enabled healthcare solutions. YZR Capital, a German venture firm, also participated in the round and increased its backing after seeing the company's progress since its initial investment.

"Since our initial investment, Holi has shown remarkable progress – both in clinical outcomes and operational execution. The company is scaling fast while maintaining strong medical standards, which is rare in this market. That's exactly why we decided to significantly increase our backing in this round," says Markus Feuerecker, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at YZR Capital.
