Rentman Raises €20 Million to Redefine Event Software

Venture capitalists are turning their attention to Software as a Service (SaaS) startups in the Event Management sector

Over the past decade, SaaS companies have been the catalysts for change, rapidly ascending to unicorn status. Notable names like Contentsquare, Front, and Amagi have reshaped industries. Now, joining the league of renowned Dutch SaaS startups such as ValueBlue and Mollie, Rentman, a London-based software company dedicated to providing SaaS solutions for the events and media production industry, has emerged as a rising star.

Recently securing a substantial $22 million (€20 million) growth equity investment from Expedition Growth Capital, a private equity firm based in Amsterdam, Rentman is poised for significant strides in its growth journey. Expedition Growth Capital, known for its focus on investing in and supporting growth-stage technology companies, including Kontent.ai, aims to propel Rentman's customer-centric investments, strategic acquisitions, and platform development.

Rentman's cloud-based software empowers companies and teams involved in events and media productions to efficiently manage their crucial resources—their equipment and crew. In the past year alone, Rentman's platform facilitated the delivery of over one million projects, ranging from corporate live streaming broadcasts and weddings to major music festivals and blockbuster film productions. With a user base spanning 100 countries and serving over 250,000 users, Rentman stands as a game-changer in the industry.

Founded in 2015 by CEO Roy van den Broek, who brings firsthand experience from owning and operating an audio-visual equipment rental company, Rentman fills a critical gap with its SaaS solution tailored to the intricate needs of events and media production. The recent integration of RFID functionality and the addition of a standalone Crew Management product underscore Rentman's commitment to innovation.

"This investment marks the start of an exciting new chapter for Rentman," expressed CEO Roy van den Broek. "We believe that events and media production professionals deserve incredible software, and we are proud that our platform enables our users to deliver unforgettable productions. We see increasing demand across North America, Europe, and our other key regions, and the capital and specialist partnership from Expedition will allow us to accelerate our plans."

Partnering in this venture, Will Sheldon, Partner at Expedition Growth Capital, affirmed Rentman's position, stating, "Rentman is profitable, growing rapidly, and has a strong, ambitious company culture. It was clear when speaking with Rentman’s customers that Rentman offers an industry-leading platform that underpins complex workflows in this highly demanding industry. There is an exciting roadmap ahead, and we are thrilled to be partnering with Rentman on this journey." As Rentman embarks on this transformative journey, the infusion of capital and expertise promises to redefine the landscape of event software, unlocking new possibilities and setting the stage for unparalleled growth.
