Rescale, a cloud platform for digital engineering and scientific computing, has secured a $115 million Series D round to enhance its AI-driven simulation and modeling capabilities. The round includes participation from strategic investors such as Applied Ventures, NVIDIA, Hitachi Ventures, Foxconn, and Y Combinator, among others, bringing the company’s total funding to over $260 million.
The new capital will accelerate the development of Rescale’s unified platform, which integrates high-performance computing (HPC), intelligent data systems, and applied AI for enterprise R&D.
As companies race to bring complex innovations to market, they face mounting pressure to modernize their simulation and engineering workflows. The HPC market alone is worth $50 billion, while product lifecycle data management and simulation software markets represent another $50 billion combined.
"Accelerated computing is the engine of the AI industrial revolution," said Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and CEO. "With Rescale's full-stack NVIDIA software and infrastructure, industries can push the boundaries of AI-driven modeling and simulation—advancing discovery, design, and engineering at an unprecedented pace."
Rescale’s platform addresses key bottlenecks in computing limitations, data silos, and the complexity of embedding AI in physics, chemistry, and biology-based simulations. By streamlining these capabilities, the company is helping organizations accelerate product development cycles and scientific breakthroughs.
The new funds will be used to grow Rescale’s library of over 1,250 engineering applications and expand access to its global network of more than 500 cloud data centers. The company plans to enhance its integration with partners such as AMD, AWS, Arm, Intel, Microsoft Azure, NVIDIA, and Oracle Cloud.
Rescale is also investing in building a unified data fabric and digital thread capability for modeling and simulation workflows. This includes expanding its enterprise-grade security offerings and adding new compliance authorizations for government and defense customers. As part of this roadmap, Rescale aims to introduce AI-native features like search, tagging, and automation into engineering pipelines.
In the next phase, Rescale will support the democratization of AI physics tools and design validation workflows, enabling speed improvements of up to 1,000x for enterprise customers across industries.
Founded by Joris Poort, Rescale offers a platform tailored for scientists and engineers building next-generation products. The company’s customers include General Motors Motorsports, Samsung, SLB, Arm, and the U.S. Department of Defense, with enterprise users spending over $1 billion annually on HPC infrastructure.
Use cases span a range of mission-critical tasks—from optimizing automotive safety and aircraft design to accelerating drug discovery through molecular analysis. According to Poort, "Our future breakthroughs are limited not by imagination, but by the speed at which engineers and scientists can turn ideas into reality."
Rescale’s core advantage lies in delivering a seamless experience across compute, data, and AI, removing complexity for engineering teams and helping them bring innovation to market faster.
Rescale’s investor network includes prominent names from both the tech and industrial worlds. In addition to the latest round’s participants—such as Hanwha Asset Management, NEC Orchestrating Future Fund, SineWave Ventures, and Translink Capital—the company’s early backers include Sam Altman, Jeff Bezos, Paul Graham, and Peter Thiel.
Dr. Om Nalamasu, CTO of Applied Materials and President of Applied Ventures, noted: "We've experienced firsthand how Rescale's software product suite can speed our AI physics simulation capabilities and catalyze adoption of our digital twin initiatives."
