Rune Technologies has secured $24 million in Series A funding to expand the deployment of its AI-driven logistics software across the U.S. military. The round was led by Human Capital, with participation from Pax VC and Washington Harbour Partners. Existing backers—including Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures, XYZ Venture Capital, and Forward Deployed VC—also joined the round.
The funding follows rising interest in Rune’s flagship platform, TyrOS, a system designed to replace outdated tools like spreadsheets and whiteboards with advanced, real-time logistics software that functions even in contested environments.
Military logistics is often described as the invisible backbone of defense operations. Rune aims to bring that backbone into the digital age. TyrOS, the company's primary offering, operates at the tactical edge—processing data where decisions are made rather than relying on distant servers. This approach ensures the platform can function even when connectivity is disrupted.
"Rune is solving the perennial problem of anticipating, planning and executing military logistics in dynamic, high-tempo and contested environments," said retired Major General Duane Gamble, former Army G4. "TyrOS leverages AI/ML and world-class engineering to do the science, freeing up logisticians and commanders to focus on the art of warfare."
With the new capital, Rune plans to accelerate the deployment of TyrOS across additional branches of the U.S. military. The platform has already been adopted by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. Upcoming efforts will focus on expanding this footprint and deepening integration within current units.
The company also aims to grow its engineering teams and continue refining its software based on feedback from deployed forces. Rune’s development cycle is tightly integrated with end-users—engineers work alongside warfighters and incorporate real-time battlefield feedback to make continuous improvements.
Rune Technologies was founded by veterans with deep operational experience across all branches of the U.S. military. By combining this frontline insight with Silicon Valley’s engineering talent, the team delivers software that meets the demands of modern conflict environments.
"There's urgent need for the Department of Defense to modernize its core systems," said Ross Fubini, Managing Partner at XYZ Venture Capital. "We've invested in Rune twice in just a few months because it's clear they're making huge impact across multiple operational military units."
The company’s open architecture approach also allows it to integrate seamlessly with other defense platforms. Earlier this year, Rune announced an integration with Palantir’s Defense OSDK, extending TyrOS’ capabilities from the tactical edge to strategic planning.
Rune’s latest raise brings its total funding to over $30 million in the past year, following a seed round in February. The company was also recently selected for the Palantir Startup Fellowship, reinforcing its growing influence in defense tech.
The leadership team includes Co-Founder and CEO David Tuttle, who is driving the company’s mission to align logistics capabilities with the operational excellence of U.S. warfighters.
“Our mission is to bring military logistics sophistication in line with the prowess of our fighting capabilities,” said Tuttle. “This investment will allow us to accelerate our deployment of TyrOS to sustainers across the joint force.”
