SchoolAI has raised $25 million in Series A funding to further its mission of helping teachers personalize learning for every student. The round was led by Insight Partners, with continued support from NextView Ventures, The General Partnership, and Peterson Ventures, bringing the company’s total funding to $32 million.
SchoolAI’s platform, known as the Classroom Experience, equips educators and learners with tailored AI tools. For teachers, that means support with planning and administrative tasks. For students, it offers personalized tutors, games, and adaptive lessons. Together, these tools provide real-time insights that help educators respond more effectively to each student’s needs.
Founded to address a growing gap in individualized instruction, SchoolAI supports teachers in a time of tight budgets, teacher shortages, and widening learning gaps.
“Teachers deserve powerful tools to help extend their impact, not add to their workload,” said Caleb Hicks, founder and CEO of SchoolAI. “This funding helps us double down on connecting the dots for teachers and students, and later this year, bringing school administrators and parents at home onto the platform as well.”
Already in use in over 1 million classrooms across all 50 U.S. states and more than 80 countries, SchoolAI works through direct school district partnerships to ensure secure, well-managed implementation. Its tools are being adopted by educators from kindergarten through higher education, with over 150,000 custom AI tools created by teachers and school leaders.
With the new capital, SchoolAI will expand globally, build new features for students, parents, and administrators, and grow its team to ensure high-quality onboarding and professional development for schools.
The company also plans to deepen integration with existing school systems, continuing to support tools like Canvas, PowerSchool, and Google Classroom, while maintaining strict compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and SOC 2 security standards.
SchoolAI empowers teachers with a variety of tools, including:
Educators across the country report strong results, including increased engagement, improved grammar scores, and more meaningful student-teacher interaction. “Approximately 94% of my students showed remarkable growth in content mastery,” said Sue Cluck of Gravette High School.
SchoolAI was founded in 2021 with the belief that every student deserves personalized attention. Since launching in classrooms in August 2023, the platform has grown rapidly and is already embedded in over 400 school districts.
“SchoolAI makes it easy to help students in a way that wasn’t possible before,” said Dr. Anthony Godfrey, Superintendent at Jordan School District. The company’s educator-first approach and focus on safety have won trust among teachers and school leaders alike.
Lead investor Insight Partners brings deep experience in scaling high-growth tech companies. “Their district-ready platform can support both teaching and learning without compromising critical thinking skills or instructional quality,” said Nikitas Koutoupes, Managing Director at Insight.
Early supporter NextView Ventures also reaffirmed its commitment. “SchoolAI stands out because they take the serious things seriously–they’ve built a team of educators and technologists who respect the profound responsibility of bringing AI into learning environments where things like safety and privacy can’t be compromised,” said Stephanie Palmeri, Partner at NextView.
