Sinpex has closed a €10 million Series A funding round to expand its AI-powered Know Your Business (KYB) platform across Europe. BlackFin Capital Partners led the investment, with strong participation from existing backers ACE Ventures and TX Ventures.
The company plans to use the capital to strengthen its position in the European KYB automation market and accelerate expansion into France and the Netherlands. Sinpex aims to help businesses prepare for the 2027 EU Anti-Money Laundering (EU AML) Regulation while streamlining compliance operations.
Financial institutions face mounting pressure to comply with increasingly complex regulations. The 2027 EU AML Regulation represents a significant shift in compliance requirements, and companies need automated solutions to keep pace.
Sinpex addresses this challenge by unifying every stage of customer and regulatory lifecycle management. The platform handles document acquisition, Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) identification, risk assessment, AML screening, identity verification, and ongoing reviews. Its AI-driven register and ownership analysis produces fully audit-ready reporting that meets compliance standards across AMLD5/6, PSD2/3, and DAC7 frameworks.
The Series A capital will support several strategic priorities. Sinpex plans to scale operations across key European markets while investing in product development to stay ahead of regulatory changes.
The company will also expand its team, bringing in talent to accelerate growth and enhance its technology platform. This investment enables Sinpex to deliver more sophisticated automation capabilities that reduce manual compliance work while maintaining regulatory robustness.
Sinpex was founded by Dr. Camillo Werdich, who serves as CEO. The company has built a SaaS platform that serves payment service providers, e-commerce platforms, banks, leasing companies, factoring firms, and asset managers.
The platform's extensible KYB data model works across multiple jurisdictions, enabling clients to manage business onboarding and continuous compliance from a single system. This approach significantly reduces the time compliance teams spend on manual processes while improving consistency and audit readiness.
Financial institutions including Otto Payments, EFS Deutschland (an Enpal subsidiary), IKB, Bybit, Scayle Payments, and KfW have adopted the platform. In November, Sinpex received first place in the "ID Verification & KYC" category at the FF Awards in London, recognizing the company's innovation in automated financial services.
"We're seeing an enormous transformation ahead in how financial institutions handle increasing client expectations and regulatory demands around AML, KYC, and KYB," said Dr. Camillo Werdich, CEO and Founder of Sinpex. "This investment allows us to accelerate our mission: delivering truly intelligent automation that meets rising regulatory requirements while enabling payment service providers, e-commerce platforms, banks, leasing, factoring companies, and asset managers to grow with confidence while meeting customer expectations for a seamless business relationship. With strengthened resources, we are ready to accelerate growth across our core markets, bring in the best talent, and push our technology forward so our clients meet regulatory requirements more easily than ever before while focusing on their business."
BlackFin Capital Partners brings deep sector expertise to the partnership. As Europe's largest financial services investor with over €4 billion in assets under management, the firm focuses on high-growth fintechs and insurtechs from Series A through Series C. Founded in 2009, BlackFin operates as an independent private equity and venture capital firm with nine partners and approximately 50 professionals across offices in Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Brussels, and London.
"We see the same need across all regulated industries we operate in and regulatory scrutiny is bound to increase in the coming years. As such, we were looking for the right combination of sector expertise, depth of product and execution skills," said Romain Grimal, Investment Director of BlackFin. "We found this in Sinpex and we are excited to support the team around Camillo in building the pan-European champion for enterprise-grade regtech platforms."
ACE Ventures and TX Ventures increased their commitment in this round, demonstrating continued confidence in Sinpex's market position and growth trajectory.
