Sola Security has closed a $35 million Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $65 million following a $30 million seed round last year. The round was led by existing investor S32, with participation from M12 (Microsoft's Venture Fund) and New Era Capital Partners.
All previous investors joined the round, including venture capitalist Mike Moritz, S Capital, and Glilot Capital Partners. The cybersecurity AI assistant company plans to use the fresh capital to advance its artificial intelligence capabilities and accelerate product development.
The cybersecurity sector is experiencing a significant shift as AI technology becomes more sophisticated. Gartner expects AI assistants to evolve into context-aware copilots for security teams, reducing repetitive workload while improving decision support through built-in security logic and reasoning.
"Cybersecurity is entering its AI moment, and we intend to lead it," said Guy Flechter, CEO & Co-Founder of Sola Security. "We're building the go-to platform for creating security solutions, with Sola AI turning ideas into instant, customizable defenses without the complexity, cost, or vendor locking that has held teams back for decades."
The new investment will primarily focus on advancing Sola's AI capabilities and expanding its platform functionality. The company aims to make cybersecurity solutions more accessible to organizations of all sizes by simplifying the creation process through generative AI technology.
Sola's approach allows users to create custom security applications in minutes rather than weeks or months. The platform spans multiple security domains including identity and access management, cloud security, posture and configuration management, and compliance solutions.
Guy Flechter and Ron Peled founded Sola Security in 2024, drawing from extensive industry experience. Flechter previously served as CEO and Co-Founder of Cider Security, which was acquired by Palo Alto Networks. Peled brings experience as former Global CISO of LivePerson and has worked as a strategic security consultant to startups.
The founders started the company after becoming frustrated with the slow pace of innovation in cybersecurity. They wanted to build solutions that would make cybersecurity faster and easier without compromising quality and safety standards.
Since emerging from stealth six months ago, Sola has attracted over 2,000 users who have created more than 1,000 custom security apps using the platform's generative AI capabilities. The rapid adoption demonstrates market demand for simplified security solutions.
The investment round reflects strong confidence from both new and existing investors in Sola's approach to AI-powered cybersecurity.
"Sola is redefining what's possible in cybersecurity," said Wesley Tillu, Partner at S32. "By combining deep industry experience with a bold vision for AI-driven innovation, the team is building a platform that will transform how security challenges are solved for years to come."
Todd Graham, Managing Partner at M12, praised the team's execution speed. "In just a year, the team has already shown the vision and execution to make that transformation real. Sola is exactly the kind of company we love working with: a founding team with an extraordinary vision, a product that proves itself quickly, and a team that sees opportunity in every challenge."
Ziv Conen, Partner at New Era Capital Partners, highlighted the democratizing aspect of Sola's technology. "Sola is bringing that transformation to security teams, democratizing cybersecurity and empowering practitioners to seize the AI promise faster, and better than ever."
