Suno closed a $250 million Series C funding round at a $2.45 billion post-money valuation. Menlo Ventures led the investment, with participation from NVentures (NVIDIA's venture capital arm), Hallwood Media, Lightspeed, and Matrix.
The company has emerged as the world's top music creation app, attracting millions of daily users who create and share original songs. Just two years since launch, the platform has transformed how people approach music-making, from casual experimenters to established professionals.
The music industry is witnessing a significant shift in creative workflows. Suno's platform enables anyone to turn musical ideas into reality, regardless of their technical background or formal training.
"We're seeing the future of music take shape in real time," said Mikey Shulman, Co-Founder and CEO of Suno. "In just two years, we've seen millions of people make their ideas a reality through Suno, from first-time creators to top songwriters and producers integrating the tool into their daily workflows. This funding allows us to keep expanding what's possible, empowering more artists to experiment, collaborate, and build on their creativity. We're proud to be at the forefront of this historic moment for music."
The new capital will support development of more sophisticated tools for professional users while maintaining accessible experiences for casual creators. Suno plans to expand social features that let people share and connect through music.
The company is building what it describes as a full-stack music ecosystem—combining advanced models, professional workstations, artist tools, and community features. The goal is to create an environment where people actively participate in music creation rather than simply consuming content.
Suno launched its first generative audio workstation, Suno Studio, in September. The platform combines professional multi-track editing with AI stem generation, giving users studio-quality tools in an accessible format.
Days before Studio's release, the company introduced v5, its most powerful music model to date. The update delivers improved creative control, better mixing quality, enhanced vocals, and more intuitive prompts across all track elements. These releases represent a year of significant product evolution that has expanded what's technically possible in AI music generation.
To strengthen its technical capabilities, Suno acquired WavTool, the first browser-based digital audio workstation. The acquisition brought engineering talent and technology that now powers the company's mission to provide artists with top-tier creative tools.
Suno serves a broad spectrum of creators. Amateur musicians experiment with ideas they couldn't previously execute, while professional songwriters and producers have integrated the platform into their daily work processes.
This widespread adoption across skill levels signals a cultural change in music creation and distribution. The platform has attracted millions of users who engage with it daily, creating an active community around shared musical expression.
The investor group reflects confidence in Suno's approach to music technology. NVentures, NVIDIA's venture arm, joins media investor Hallwood Media and established venture firms Lightspeed and Matrix in supporting the company's vision.
"Suno is the world's #1 music creation app, making music accessible to everyone. Mikey and the team have built something people genuinely love using and millions of fans are on the platform every day, creating original songs and sharing them with friends," said Amy Martin, Partner, Menlo Ventures.
The company aims to create new economic models where value flows between creators and listeners, potentially reshaping how the music community functions. With this funding, Suno will focus on unlocking new opportunities for creative expression while building sustainable pathways for artists and audiences to connect.
