Temporal Technologies has announced a $146 million Series C funding round, valuing the company at $1.72 billion post-money. This latest round brings the company’s total funding to $350 million. Tiger Global led the round, with participation from StepStone Group, Amplify Partners, Index Ventures, MongoDB Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Conversion Capital, Hanwha Next Generation Opportunity Fund, and 137 Ventures.
The funding is set to accelerate product development and expand Temporal’s enterprise-managed service, Temporal Cloud. With its growing adoption across industries, the company is positioning itself as a foundational player in modern software architecture.
Temporal’s technology has gained traction in sectors like payments, e-commerce, and air travel, and is now seeing increased demand in AI-related workloads. The platform’s appeal lies in its ability to ensure execution reliability—even during failures—making it ideal for complex, long-running applications in both traditional and emerging tech ecosystems.
“Developers shouldn’t have to worry about failures, retries, or timeouts when building applications,” said Samar Abbas, co-founder and CEO of Temporal. “This funding allows us to advance our mission of making execution reliability the default, whether for traditional enterprises or the next generation of AI-driven workloads.”
With the new capital, Temporal plans to scale its R&D efforts to support the rising demand for resilient infrastructure. Key initiatives include enhancements to its durable RPC system Nexus, Azure cloud support, and tools for hybrid and cross-cloud architectures.
The company will also invest heavily in developer experience and new AI capabilities. These updates aim to make the platform easier to adopt across a broader range of industries and use cases.
Founded in 2019, Temporal offers an open-source platform that allows developers to build applications without worrying about infrastructure failures. Its key value proposition is guaranteeing workflow execution, regardless of system disruptions, enabling teams to focus solely on business logic.
The company has seen rapid growth, with over 183,000 weekly active open-source developers and more than 7 million unique Temporal clusters deployed—a 600% increase in the past 18 months. Temporal Cloud, the company’s commercial offering, is now used by over 2,500 global customers.
Its technology supports AI workloads at major chipmakers, research labs, and Fortune 500 companies, underscoring its flexibility in supporting agentic applications across new and legacy systems.
Temporal supports orchestration across multiple programming languages, enabling seamless integration in diverse development environments. This is especially critical for enterprises pursuing AI modernization while managing compatibility with older tech stacks.
“Temporal’s unique programming model, open source posture, and out-of-the-box reliability guarantees make choosing it as our de facto agentic backend a no-brainer,” said Stefan Petrica, Director of Engineering at Sinch.
The company recently appointed Jim Cyb, a veteran in B2B software, as President to lead go-to-market efforts and welcomed Sahir Azam, Chief Product Officer at MongoDB, as its first independent board member.
Temporal’s investor base includes a mix of early and later-stage backers: Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, Amplify Partners, and MongoDB Ventures, among others. These firms bring technical expertise and deep connections across cloud, SaaS, and developer tooling ecosystems.
The Series C round builds on Temporal’s steady funding progression, with this latest capital injection aimed at scaling both product and market expansion.
