In a significant stride towards revolutionizing workplace safety, TuMeke, a cutting-edge computer vision platform, has successfully secured $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Intel Capital. The California-based company integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and ergonomic principles to spearhead innovation in workplace safety, particularly in manufacturing facilities.

TuMeke, founded by Riley Noland and Zach Noland, stands at the forefront of addressing musculoskeletal injuries prevalent across industries. The infusion of funds from Intel Capital is set to propel the expansion and scaling of TuMeke's dynamic team, comprising engineers, ergonomists, and academics.

Riley Noland, co-founder of TuMeke, emphasizes the necessity of prioritizing worker safety, describing it as non-negotiable. TuMeke's mission is to empower businesses with an efficient, affordable, and ethical tool that enhances employee safety. The platform's unique approach involves a computer vision system packaged within a user-friendly smartphone app, eliminating the need for additional equipment.

TuMeke streamlines the risk assessment process, replacing cumbersome paperwork with a quick video capture on a smartphone. This revolutionary AI system seamlessly combines computer vision and ergonomic insights, facilitating job redesign or worker retraining. Notably, TuMeke achieves all this without disrupting production, positioning itself as the go-to tool for the U.S. workers' compensation insurance industry and major global industrial firms.

Zach Noland, co-founder of TuMeke, sheds light on the limitations of traditional ergonomic risk assessment processes—manual, laborious, and inefficient. TuMeke disrupts this norm by leveraging AI and computer vision to swiftly identify concerns and propose corrections. The platform's suite of products enables companies to assess ergonomic risks twelve times faster than conventional methods, aligning with its overarching goal of eliminating workplace musculoskeletal injuries.

TuMeke's rapid ascent is underscored by the endorsement from industry leaders like Mark Rostick, Vice President and Senior Managing Director at Intel Capital. The platform's digitally precise technology maximizes the return on safety investments, making occupational environments safer and more efficient.

Since its launch in 2021, TuMeke has emerged as a pivotal partner in manufacturing, collaborating with industry giants such as AF GroupChemtrade Logistics, and Sentry Insurance. The platform's commitment to ergonomic safety, coupled with its innovative approach, has garnered praise from Colin Welch, EHS Director at Chemtrade Logistics, who lauds TuMeke as an "outstanding tool for conducting ergonomic assessments."

The Series A funding not only signifies a vote of confidence in TuMeke's vision but also paves the way for future innovations. The company plans to expand its operations and introduce new features that augment the capabilities of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) teams, further reinforcing the safety of workers.

Diwakar Ganesan, co-founder of TuMeke, highlights the company's commitment to leveraging AI for the greater good. TuMeke's human-in-the-loop AI technology ensures employee safety improvements with consent, revolutionizing safety training sessions. Ganesan notes that employees are now not only engaged in safety sessions but actively seek ways to enhance long-term health outcomes.
