UK-based Oh is reimagining the creator economy with a decentralized, AI-driven ecosystem powered by Web3 technologies. Recently, the company raised $4.5 million in seed funding to develop its suite of AI products and infrastructure aimed at empowering both creators and users.
At the heart of Oh’s ecosystem is OhChat, an AI-driven platform with nearly 100,000 users in 174 countries. OhChat enables creators to engage audiences through AI-generated characters, ranging from entirely original designs to digital twins of real-world figures. Celebrities like Carmen Electra, Kaili Thorne, and Rio Sage have embraced the platform, collectively reaching over 10 million followers with their digital twins.
Building on the success of OhChat, the company plans to introduce “superModels”—next-generation autonomous AI digital creators. These AI agents will be equipped with the ability to grow their own social media followings, remember user interactions across platforms, and develop dynamic personalities through an integrated life-planner system.
Users can also monetize these agents, retaining the primary share of revenue generated. Additionally, a novel permissionless buyback system will allow superModel owners to launch tokens tied to their agents’ revenue, further enhancing earning potential.
Oh’s Co-Founder and CEO, Nic Young, described the intersection of AI and Web3 as a transformative moment for the creator economy. By leveraging AI’s capacity for personalization and content generation alongside Web3’s decentralization and censorship resistance, Oh aims to dismantle traditional systems of content creation and distribution.
“By combining AI’s ability to generate and personalize content with the power to create communities with agentic capabilities, built on the decentralization and censorship resistance of Web3, traditional systems simply can’t compete. It’s a paradigm shift for creators, consumers, and investors alike,” said Young.
The $4.5 million seed round saw participation from notable backers, including Tangent, Big Brain Holdings, Kosmos Ventures, Tagus Capital, and Bodhi Ventures. Angel investors such as Yan Liberman of Delphi Ventures also joined the funding.
This robust investor support highlights confidence in Oh’s ability to disrupt the creator economy by merging AI innovation with the decentralized principles of Web3.
Oh’s mission to empower users and creators through decentralized AI is poised to reshape how content is created, shared, and monetized. With its groundbreaking technologies and strong investor backing, the company stands at the forefront of a paradigm shift that could redefine the creator economy for years to come.
