Vanta has secured $150 million in Series D funding, bringing its total capital raised to $504 million since 2021. The round values the company at $4.15 billion and was led by Wellington Management, marking a new partnership. Existing backers Goldman Sachs Alternatives (Growth Equity), Sequoia, J.P. Morgan, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Atlassian Ventures, and CrowdStrike Ventures also joined the round.

This latest investment signals strong confidence in Vanta’s approach to automating and scaling trust through AI-driven governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) solutions. The funding comes as Vanta’s platform gains traction across industries and company sizes—from early-stage startups to Fortune 50 enterprises.

A Fast-Growing Market for Continuous Trust

Trust management has emerged as a critical priority for companies navigating increasingly complex compliance demands, supply chain risks, and customer due diligence expectations. Vanta sits at the intersection of these needs, offering businesses a way to move beyond static, checklist-based security reviews toward real-time, automated verification.

“We started Vanta with a simple belief: if we made it easier to share trust between businesses, all companies could grow faster and more securely,” said Christina Cacioppo, CEO of Vanta. “Today, we’re helping businesses earn and prove trust—enabling over 12,000 companies to scale security and GRC the way they scale software.”

Scaling AI Innovation and Expanding into New Markets

Vanta plans to use the new funds to continue expanding its AI capabilities, particularly in automating GRC workflows that are traditionally manual and time-consuming. The company recently launched its AI Agent, which integrates across the platform to assist teams with policy questions, evidence gathering, and compliance workflows—cutting repetitive work by up to 12 hours per week.

The investment will also support expansion into adjacent markets, such as third-party risk management and government compliance. With growing demand for solutions aligned with FedRAMP, CMMC, and NIST 800-53 standards, Vanta is positioning itself as a core platform for organizations navigating high-stakes regulatory environments.

From SOC 2 to Scalable, Global Trust

Founded in 2018, Vanta initially helped startups automate SOC 2 reports—a foundational step toward credibility in the tech ecosystem. Today, it offers a broad platform that centralizes security, compliance, and trust operations for organizations of all sizes. Its tools include vendor risk management, access reviews, AI-powered security questionnaires, and Trust Centers that provide real-time transparency to partners and customers.

More than 12,000 companies across 58 countries rely on Vanta, including names like Icelandair, Intercom, Omni Hotels, and Mistral AI. Headquartered in San Francisco, the company has grown to over 1,000 employees with offices in Dublin, London, New York, and Sydney.

Backed by Top-Tier Investors with Deep SaaS Experience

Wellington Management led this latest round with strong conviction in Vanta’s approach to real-time trust. “Vanta’s AI-driven platform is moving beyond the standard for security and compliance - with real-time, continuous verification that’s essential for every industry in today’s business environment,” said Matt Witheiler, Head of Late-Stage Growth at Wellington.

Longtime investors including Sequoia, Craft Ventures, and Goldman Sachs have continued to support Vanta’s journey. Since launching out of Y Combinator in 2018, the company has steadily built one of the most well-capitalized compliance startups in the sector.
