VITL, a Nashville-based healthtech company, has closed a $7.5 million Series A funding round led by SignalFire. The raise will accelerate expansion of VITL's pharmacy network, fund product development, and grow the company's team. The round came together without a traditional pitch process. SignalFire identified VITL through its proprietary data platform and reached out directly, a signal of how strongly the firm believed in what the company was building.
Cash-pay healthcare is a $100 billion market that has been growing steadily, yet it has been running on infrastructure designed for a different era. Med spas, hormone clinics, longevity practices, concierge medicine providers, and direct primary care clinics are prescribing treatments that sit well ahead of what the traditional system was built to handle. But the software tools available to them were made for insurance-based, reactive medicine. They were never designed for this market.
Because no one built the right infrastructure for cash-pay clinics, these practices have been managing the pharmacy experience manually. That means credentialing separately with five to seven pharmacies, tracking whether prescriptions were filled, chasing shipment updates, and calling around to find inventory when a compound goes out of stock. The average clinic loses more than $100,000 a year to this kind of inefficiency, and physicians spend the equivalent of two full workdays every month on pharmacy operations instead of patient care.
"We're not building another healthcare tool. We're building infrastructure that eliminates the need for most of them," said Charlie Jordan, Founder and CEO of VITL. "E-prescribing was the first and most obvious source of drag we eliminated. But it's not the last."
The Series A capital will go toward expanding VITL's network of verified pharmacy partners and developing clinical program management and subscription workflow tools. The company also plans to invest in interoperability features that connect VITL to the broader healthcare ecosystem and to scale its team at its Nashville headquarters.
VITL's platform gives clinics a single login that replaces multiple separate pharmacy portals. From that interface, practices can compare prices in real time across verified 503A and 503B compounding pharmacies, place orders with multiple pharmacies in a single transaction, and give patients live tracking from prescription to delivery. Since launching in late 2024, the platform has grown to serve more than 630 clinics and over 1,000 active prescribers. The company has reached eight-figure ARR in under two years and recorded more than 90% quarter-over-quarter order growth. Clinics using VITL report saving two full workdays per month on prescription management and an average of $100,000 annually in operational costs.
Three forces are converging to make this moment significant. Patients are leaving the traditional healthcare system. Direct primary care, concierge medicine, and cash-pay clinics are growing at double-digit rates as consumers seek transparency, access, and choice. Regulatory pressure is also professionalising the compounding pharmacy industry, with FDA enforcement creating new standards and recent developments like the Novo Nordisk and Hims & Hers deal reshaping GLP-1 distribution. And every major e-prescribing platform on the market today was built for insurance-based, reactive medicine. You cannot retrofit that for a preventative health economy.
SignalFire led the round. The firm manages approximately $3 billion in assets and invests in applied AI companies from pre-seed through Series B across sectors including health and pharma tech, cybersecurity, infrastructure, consumer, and enterprise. Its Beacon AI platform tracks over 650 million employee profiles and 80 million organisations, which is how it sources investments like this one.
"Cash-pay healthcare represents one of the fastest-growing segments of the U.S. healthcare market, yet it's running on infrastructure designed decades ago," said Chris Scoggins, General Partner at SignalFire. "VITL is bringing modern marketplace dynamics and consumer-grade user experience to an industry desperately in need of innovation. Charlie and his team have built exactly what physicians have been asking for."
SignalFire's portfolio includes Grow Therapy, Ro, EvenUp, Frame.io, Superhuman, and Stampli.
