WeRoad's €18M Boost Elevating Group Adventure Travel for the Millennial Explorer

Embark on a journey through the adventure travel, a global playground valued at a staggering $750 billion annually

Embarking on an adventure is more than just a journey; it's an immersion into the global market of thrilling escapades. Valued at a staggering $750 billion annually, the adventure travel market is a thriving landscape, and at its helm is WeRoad, an Italian startup set on redefining group adventures tailored for the millennial wanderer. In an exciting turn of events, WeRoad has sealed an €18 million Series B round led by H14, marking a pivotal chapter in its evolution. Join us as we unravel the narrative behind WeRoad's funding triumph and its ambitious plans to transform the travel experience for the spirited explorer.

Founded in 2017, WeRoad has swiftly emerged as a beacon in the travel tech space, boasting a vibrant presence across Italy, Spain, the UK, France, and Germany. With a vision to reinvent group adventure travel, WeRoad introduces a unique concept—travel coordinators who are not just guides but fellow enthusiasts, curating unforgettable experiences for groups of like-minded explorers.

WeRoad stands out from its competitors, such as Contiki, Intrepid, and G Adventures, with its distinctive feature, WeRoadX. Launched in 2023, this curated marketplace empowers travel coordinators to craft personalized itineraries, sparking the creation of over 200 new journeys spanning 50 fresh destinations. The company's commitment to innovation resonates in its drive to redefine travel norms.

Securing an €18 million Series B round, led by H14 alongside a consortium of investors, WeRoad's total funding now stands at an impressive €36 million. This financial injection is poised to propel WeRoad's growth and technological advancements, enhancing scalability and expanding its footprint across Europe, the United States, and other English-speaking regions.

A significant portion of the funding will be channeled into creating a comprehensive marketplace for travel producers, coordinators, and service providers. This expansion will transcend traditional travel activities, introducing 'off-travel' experiences seamlessly managed through a dedicated app, offering WeRoaders a plethora of events, meetups, and unique encounters.

As the curtain rises on WeRoad's next act, the €18 million injection stands as a testament to its success and potential. CEO Andrea D'Amico reflects on the remarkable journey, highlighting the doubling of turnover and the expansion of the coordinator community from 1,200 to 2,500 within the last 12 months. WeRoad's evolution is not just a testament to its resilience in the face of global challenges but a promise of an exhilarating future, redefining group adventure travel for the spirited millennial explorer.
