Wi-Charge has raised $20 million in a Series C round led by Standard Investments, the investment platform of Standard Industries. The European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund also joined the round, alongside existing backers and several new investors. The funding will support the global expansion of Wi-Charge’s commercial-grade wireless power platform, now actively used in sectors like smart home, retail, hospitality, and augmented reality.
The announcement follows a string of product launches that mark Wi-Charge’s shift from R&D to large-scale commercial deployment. Notable additions include the Wi-Poster (a 31-inch wirelessly powered color E-Ink display), video-enabled LCD displays for retail environments, and the first over-the-air powered out-of-home digital signage solution. These complement earlier integrations with smart locks and connected home devices, signaling the platform’s growing industry relevance.
Wi-Charge’s infrared wireless power technology enables devices to receive several watts of power over room-sized distances. It is currently deployed across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, offering a viable alternative to wired or battery-dependent devices. The company’s tech has attracted interest from major and niche brands alike, particularly in areas where constant power delivery without cabling is a major advantage.
“Wi-Charge is at an inflection point with innovative technology, strong IP, and market timing converging,” said Peter Marturano, Technology Sector Head at Standard Investments. “We believe Wi-Charge is uniquely positioned to lead the transformation to a wireless power future.”
The newly raised funds will be used to ramp up production and scale manufacturing processes. Another key priority is fast-tracking OEM integrations and supporting global distribution partnerships.
With more product launches and collaborations expected soon, Wi-Charge is doubling down on its commercialization efforts. The company aims to meet growing demand from brands exploring cable-free, long-range power for everything from retail displays to AR wearables.
Founded over a decade ago, Wi-Charge is backed by more than 200 patents and has pioneered a proprietary infrared-based approach to long-range wireless power. Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer Ori Mor says the technology’s appeal becomes instantly clear in person.
“Wireless power has been an impossible dream for so long—and now it’s real. Deployed in the US, Europe and Asia, it is being used successfully by small and major brands, powering different devices from 30 feet away.”
Alongside Standard Investments, the round includes support from the EIC Fund, the venture arm of the European Innovation Council focused on breakthrough technologies. The participation of both public and private sector investors highlights growing institutional confidence in the commercial readiness of wireless power.
